No need to lower the load capacity either. I would suggest not going with Icon. @P. A. Schilke would most likely agree with that muchi was leaning toward icon before the poll because I don’t need increased load capacity, just wan’t it softer. Haven’t pulled the trigger yet.

I have been wrenching for a little over 9 uears. Most of those being in Automotive while having a great understanding of many different Automotive technologies with specialties in Suspension, Electrical, HVAC and Drivability with certifcations in Nissan and Ford. Even though my knowledge isn't quite up there with @P. A. Schilke I have a suspicion that he would have liked some input I would have in an engineering team. That all said my trade is now with Forklifts certified with Crown and Hyster/Yale(better money over there). To say tue least I do have a vast amount of knowledge and that amount keeps growing every day.I'm just curious what you are basing these "facts" on. The benefit of thinner lower rate leafs in a pack gives a better ride quality and also allows them the flex up and down better. Now these rangers may have something else the could limit that down travel as I'm not 100% sure on that prt as of yet. Like I said once I have the deavers in hand and do the install we will see the numbers. Every other vehicle I have had deavers on not only rode ALOT better on and off road but also flexed and had more down travel. The lack of arch on them doesn't negate the fact they can't droop out on down travel.
I like the level look and it isn't 100% level so there is a very slight rack still to it. And I don't plan on adding anymore weight than I already carry. I don't really tow with this truck much so I'm not worried about that.

I will also add one more thing. The leafs in the deaver leafs for the Ranger are the same thickness compared to the OEM and Old Man EMU. Different material? Possibly, but they are the same thickness per leaf. There's a bit of bullshit in here.In general I got the entire lift kit. From stock it lifted the front 2.4 inches and the rear 1.6 inches. Old Man EMU is the only one at this time that I am aware of that offers a leaf that will increase travel while maintaining or add ins some load capacity to the rear(more of how much you can carry while maintaining lift). Towing is no problem at all. With the right toung load The truck will sit level. The ride quality was night and day. Control OffRoad was great. I actually had more articulation vs those who chose a leveling kit or lift with blocks. I already plan to go with the same brand on my 1993 Pathfinder.
Icon may improve ride, but it lowers load capacity of the truck. With its highest load setting it has a lower load limit then the basic Old Man EMU leaf. They even claim its ok to go to the lowest setting. Well if you plan to tow you don't want to do that as the rear will squat bad!! Oh and the Icon Leaf does not add any lift until you put it in the highest load form.
Deaver leafs. An interesting topic. To start these leafs will not increase your travel. They actually take away travel in the rear. How is that you ask? Simple, its due to the amount of Leafs in one Leaf Pack. The OEM leaf packs have 2 leafs. The Deavers have 10 per pack. One leaf is about 1/8th thick. So OEM is 1/4 and Deaver is 1 1/4 thick. That said if you go through APG they will give you a shorter bump stop to help with this. How much shorter is it you ask? No idea but if someone on here was kind enough to share that would be nice. Also what suprised me the most is how the leaf provides a comfortable ride. Why am I suprised? Simply due to how many leafs are in one Leaf Pack. Normally you would not see that except on a heavy duty vehicle, so I still have a hard time wrapping my head around it.

The Icons DO NOT decrease your payload or towing capacity whatsoever. Not sure where you are getting that. And the middle load setting provides 1.125" of lift empty.
Also, the global Ranger multipack leaf maintains payload/towing capacity, increases travel over factory and gives the truck about ½" to ⅝" lift. Also costs about half the Icons or OMEs when available.

The fact that you claim to be a mechanic yet don't understand this concept is JAW-DROPPING. You think you'd be an asset to a race team, yet you can't even read product information correctly?Would the 7500 lb towing capability, tongue weight or bed load be affected with the Icon leaf springs? I'm thinking of setting them up at option 2. I have Icon 2.5 extended travel struts with tubular uca's and compression adjustable shocks installed.

According to ICON, these leaf springs do not effect your Ranger's towing capacity. The leaf springs are slightly softer than stock, which may cause some slop if you're towing heavy, but having ICON 2.5s with compression adjusters should help clean that up.![]()

The graphic you posted says that when outfitted with all it's leaves the Icons will provide 2" of lift unloaded OR sit at factory height with 600lbs of load. It does not say that 600lbs is your new payload capacity anywhere. AT ALL.
