My wife has a 2013 Escape with the 2.0 EcoBoost in it, and that motor is perfect for that size car. Mid-September, we were on our way home from the beach and we got nailed in the back at an intersection, and I was pretty sure they were going to total out my wife's Escape - so in preparation we started test driving several vehicles to help her make up her mind with what she wanted. Unfortunately, she did not like the Edge ST-Line. She felt it was too big for her (she's 5'2" and 90 lbs.). However, she did like the new Escape, the Bronco sport, and the Lincoln Corsair. Surprise, right!? All based off the Escape/Focus architecture. And I tell you what, I was really surprised with the cost of the Lincoln Corsair, with the level of equipment you got. It was VERY close in price to the Escape she would want to get! She liked the Bronco Sport the best because she feels it's rugged image suites her better. We test drove a 2019 Wrangler as well, that was the most expensive vehicle we test drove, and it had some miles on it. She liked it, but she's very conservative with money and isn't crazy about a used vehicle with less options that has 29,000 miles on it costing more than the most expensive new vehicle she test drove. ?Nice.
I could have bought a 2022 Mustang. I purchased a 2022 Ford Edge ST instead. It replaced a 2019 Ford Edge. I did not like that 2.0 Ecoboost it had. My 2019 Ranger outperformed it big time. Now the 2022 Edge ST outperforms my Ranger. It's no Mustang, but it gets my groceries with ease. ?
