Ouch, that hurts, sorry to offend you. At sixty three, I would not care to be thrown in with Ricky. Sure it's a personal preference, But I would not go knocking your choices for what you do to your truck. Sure I would love Brembo's or Willwood's but not in my price range and no real need.Personally not a fan, this falls in line with something Ricky does down the street to his 89 Honda civic ricer.
New Brembo calipers? I could get on board with that if money’s not a issue
Personally, I'm good with the OEM silver. But I've got a buddy that uses this... many times... and it's always worked.I’m thinking about painting them black, but not committed. Ideas, experience, thoughts ?
Offended? I’m not offended just giving you my input like you asked. Sorry if I came off blunt, didn’t mean too. Just giving my opinionOuch, that hurts, sorry to offend you. I started a thread in exterior mods... https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/lets-see-your-caliper-covers.4624/I'd like to see some pictures once you get them installed.
Definitely not cheap. just did a quick check and the first web site I checked they ran between $230 to $250 for a set of four covers, and they came in Red, Black and Yellow. I don't know if I can talk myself into spending that much for them. Which is really silly when I think of how much I spent to have the whole truck ceramic coated when I first got it LOL And I do like the look of them mmmmmm? They make caliper covers which come in a variety of colors.
They ain't cheap, but they are nice!
On the other hand they already match your paint job.
I’m working on painting mine today. Hit it with brake cleaner first then lightly masked anything that looked like it shouldn’t be painted. Used the International Harverster Red industrial acrylic paint you see in one of the pictures. I wanted that specific color which is a deep red and matches my tow hooks. Also has a 10 minute dry time making it easy to sit there and revisit until it looks good. Not too bad on a nice day but definitely took a few hours. I wonder how much more stopping power I will get now that they are red.
