Hey guys first time poster here only hd my ranger a little over a week. Bought it used a 2020 with 58k on the dash. Went to do a plug change a few days ago and noticed oil on plugs 2 and 3 had oil on the threads. Wondering how big a issue this is. Truck is back at dealer at the moment and they are replacing valve cover gaskets and spark plug seals. Only time will till if that was the correct fix

This has only been reported a couple of times and the cause was generally narrowed to oil simply being spilled when refilling during the oil change and making its way to the plugs. if you only noticed it on the threads, that seems a likely explanation in your case.

I was hoping that was the case but the oil has not been changed since I put the new plugs in, after inspecting the new plugs after a few hundred miles they are the same way , the boots seem to have oil on them again also after cleaning them.
