What would be the best recommended ODB-II ? Forscan tool for our 2019-2021 Rangers?
I've had several simple ODB-II plug in tools for my former vehicle to troubleshoot and clear codes, howerer I never previously owned a "SMART" vehicle with so much technology. I'm looking for the best tool for this vehicle. I've never used Forscan but plan to learn it to potentially make simple changes and identify issues should they pop up. I'm very technical savvy as I previously was a VP in Infomation Technology at a bank. I'm also very mechnical savvy as I worked on vehicles all of my life. But these days I don't do any engine rebuilding stuff. I keep it to standard maintenance stuff like oil changes, brake changes, shocks and links. I'll replace componence identified by ODB-II codes. I'm 67 and never needed a dealer service that I could not do myself.
But that is likely to change due to the complexity of these verhicles. A good diagnostic tool can still save me money if the issue identified is a simple component change I can do myself and clear the code afterwords.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. I've seen several tools on Amazon but I would like the one most recommended by the forum participants here.
Thanks.
