Has anyone ever gotten the "No GPS" symbol in Sync3? If so, do you know what causes it?
It stayed on until I got to my destination (20 minutes), and then didn't appear when I turned the vehicle on the next time. I was driving under open sky.

I’ve also seen that two times in my eight months of ownership. I haven’t a clue of the cause, but it’s gone after the next key cycle. ??‍♂

I have seen it a handful of times - not sure what causes it, but it has always gone away on the next key cycle for me.

I had that happen with my 2019 Ranger, but it never went away. Maps reverted to Detroit Michigan. The dealer replaced the APIM under my extended warranty.

Happened once. Can't remember if it cleared while driving or if I had to restart, but it did go away and hasn't returned.

I had it happen a couple of times, but both were when I was on low signal areas, in the mountains away from cell towers. I was gone the next time I started it.
I haven't had it since the dealer replaced the APIM.

FYI, cell phone reception has nothing to do with your GPS reception, they are two completely different and independent systems. It takes a minimum of three GPS satellites to triangulate your position. If you were in the mountains the GPS receiver in your Ranger likely could only see two satellites and that is the reason for the no GPS icon.

FWIW, one of my radar detectors announced when it has acquired a GPS signal and when it has lost the signal. I also have it positioned up under the edge of the roof so I am not giving the antennas the best view of the sky, so I will loose and a short time later will reacquire the signal. This typically happens during bad weather.

Since I got my first Ford with navigation I have seen the no GPS icon on occasion and it is typically during bad weather. There seems to be a glitch in the Ford software because it does not always clear the icon when the signal is acquired again until you restart the truck or restart Sync.
