I don't think the Ram front end works well in those proportions... my knee jerk reaction was a genuine "eew!".

I honestly think it looks better than the Ranger 6G.....

So not only do they litter the roads with crossovers, now we're adding Unibody trucks to the mix?

Well, I'm a dakota fanboy so I'll keep my eyes on what the US version looks like... if it actually arrives.

I mean... hooray for more small trucks. Hooray for competition. Good on Dodge for bringing a sorely needed product to market. Unless... they mark them up to $40,000 like Mavericks and then it is not a sorely needed product. A sorely needed product is a nice little truck for $25,000 with decent everyday utility and decent gas mileage.

The front looks as odd as the US 5G Ranger did to me when I first saw it per the illustration - and less odd gaps in the grill. Even though the Maverick is more thoroughly designed I honestly don't think it's that attractive in person.

Dodges are usually pretty stylish although that typically wears off about the time their paid off.

When I went shopping for my midsize truck I was actually a little disappointed there wasn't a Dodge to look at. So this might be a welcome alternative for someone in the market. I'm only a quarter of the way through my expected ownership of my truck so who knows down the road.

I find it odd the article keeps comparing the Rampage to the maverick. I must have missed how much smaller than the Dakota it will be when it keeps bringing up the Ranger too.

It used to be passenger car based. Now that SUVs are replacing passenger cars, it makes sense that this….

is reloaded in an SUV based version.

@D Fresh - I didn't know that! Very interesting. You're talking about the Dodge 700? (I had to google it.)

Yep, I've seen a few around here.

Living in a sanctuary city/state we see a lot of imported vehicles here.
