The word "Ridgeline" keeps popping up when I look at these images...

Hope it has a better trans than the outgoing Focus. That was a mess.

But it makes sense since there's been talk of a baby Bronco ala Bronco II. I'm guessing this is it?
The "Baby Bronco" is going to be called "Bronco Sport" (according to most sources) and be based off the new Escape. If this new "truck" looks like a truck and not a Subaru Baja, is priced right and offers 4,000-5,000 lbs of towing, I think it will sell. They just need it to look like a truck, have truck ground clearance, and some truck capabilities it will be fine. I think an AWD "Lariat" needs to at least $10k cheaper than and equivalent Ranger.

i know people who would drive something like this in a heartbeat.
yeah my wife! She once said her 2016 escape would make a 'cute' pick-up...I cant recall what my response was BUT I'm sure it was rude...
:)
Then she can tell all the other moms that she drives a 'truck'...

IF she did buy it I can gravity drop her tailgate and shout "OOOooopsie" ! :)

Makes complete sense for an automotive company that is getting rid of cars to have a complete size range for pickups, SUVs, and performance.
Diggin' the rainbow flag my brutha (or sistah)!

It makes more sense when you think of it as a "Transit Connect truck" rather than a "Focus truck"
True,
I own a Transit Connect and it has a 1500+ payload.
The new ones offer Diesel and 8spd trans.
Hope they offer a single cab, like in Europe.
It would be fun with a 2.0L or 2.3L EcoBoost and a 6spd manual.

Giving it a 3500# tow rating and a 1600# payload!
An RS truck!:like: Yeah!!

I drove the 1.6 in the TC. It is the same motor as the 1.5 which is just smaller B/S to meet international displacement standards.
The 2.0 In the 2019 TC is normally aspirated, less power this year than the 2.5 but more transmission.
Also a diesel this year with the same 8SPD.
I'm afraid those will be the choices on the new truck.
EcoBoost 2.0 or 2.3 may not be in the cards... but we can dream.

BTW... Does your wife's car have a catch can?
Any Carbon on the intake valve issues ?

Main points for us was AWD b/c she drives a hoop to work, good mpg, something she liked and in $20k range. We had tranny rebuilt under warranty at 75k which isnt to promising. already rusting out at door seams eventhough garage kept and washed frequently. we are working on claim w Ford b/c rust started from inside-out. no other issues worth mentioning.
id b happy if we get 2-3 more years past finance term 2020 [60 mos.] its a nice little car but still a thro-a-way. JMO.
