Welcome to the forum. The only downside to the forum minus going going broke is you will have to pick a side. Tailgate damper or no Tailgate damper. It’s more divisive than politics on here?.

Tailgate is aluminum not sure why it need a damper.
Explain
In my case it's because I've had the cables snap on other trucks I've owned.
Easier to pop it with one finger when you've got an armload of groceries.
Once you go damper you'll never go back. :sunglasses:

I’m still damper free. I think the tailgate on my K5 blazer weighing a metric ton makes me not even notice the Rangers lol.
I see I still have a lot of work to do here! ? ?

Welcome. I too have a 2021 XLT FX4 and it has the vibration. I’m lifting mine front and back so waiting until after that to have it checked out under the TSB. Of course with my luck they’ll tell me the lift is causing the problem.

2 main reasons for me...
1...I have arthritis in my shoulders and hands...makes it much easier to lower and handle.
2...We have a travel trailer, and when it's hooked up, the tailgate, when down comes within an inch or so of hitting the head of the power jack. If the tailgate were to slip or fall, and the head was in the right position/angle, the tailgate would hit it...damper lets the tailgate open slowly and controllable.
