I've got this one but I installed it in the right side of the screen. I really like it. I'm probably going to switch my other vehicles over to magnetic mounts.

Not bad. It doesn't mention on the site if it interferes with wireless charging. Probably not if it's metal, but you never know I guess until you try it.

I use the one Ford installed @ the factory. It's the most low pro I've seen.

It does if you're using a case + the magnetic piece. I don't have this exact one, but I do have a cheaper one that's the exact same style. A case plus the metal pad make it too thick to wirelessly charge. And my case was previously thin enough to allow for wireless charging.

And I use a pretty thin case.

Copy. Personally, my phone connects wirelessly for most stuff. When I want to use Waze I have to plug in. In either case, I don't need to see my phone.

It's a nice mount. If one needs to see their phone I would probably go that route, and probably mount it on the right side. On the left it would obscure the display.

Hi Eric,

My phone stays in my pocket..If it dings me via my hearing aids...it stays in my pocket until the Ranger is parked and not mobile. I do not need a phone mount. Okay..that said, I was fitted with hearing aids that are blue tooth connected to my phone...the Audio specialist at Costco said I was the first person with a smart phone that knew how to operate it.... Distracted driving is become pervasive in our area.

My opinion...park your phone in your pocket. I like this phone mount based on its design but for functionality it SUCKS. Give up your phone when you are behind the wheel or pull to the side of the road. I am out here too and do not care a fig about your "important" phone call.

best,

Hi Phil,

I have my mount not so much for phone calls but to get it out of my pocket. It's an iPhone 8+ and it's way to cumbersome having that brick in my pocket along with the boat anchor key fob. It's so convenience to just mag mount it getting into the truck and grab it when I exit. Plus the phone is connected through Sync and displays on the screen so any calls go through that. I can either take via bluetooth or dump to voicemail. Text get ignored until I'm parked. :)

I honestly don't understand why people are still using car mounts when they have Android auto or carplay. I plug my phone in when I get in the car and it stays in the center console

One Good Reason is some of us will probably want to monitor engine parameters and such that are not possible on the factory instrument cluster. With the right apps and such you can monitor these things with your phone or tablet. In that case mounting your phone or such up where you can easily see it would work great. Plus there's not a ton of storage in the Ranger and in some cases there may not be room for your phone anywhere except other than in your pocket which a lot of people like to remove once they sit down in a vehicle.
