Yes it was a hard watch for sure. If you mean Cliff Notes, which we call them in the US, then absolutely:

1) guy gets a 4XE Rubicon hoping to enjoy it on some trails.
2) Said 4XE Rubicon stops working, begins working again, then ceases to work for the entirety.
3) 4XE gets strapped off the trail by another new Jeep which overheats while pulling it (I think..)
4) No one in the video knows what happened or why.
5) At least there was a sick ass Ranger on hand to ensure everyone go home safely lol.

I've seen that problem come up on the JL forum. They're driving along and all of a sudden it just stops. :stop: Not something I'd want to encounter and that's why I stayed away from that model. Plus the distance is way to short and not worth the extra money.

yes I apologise.
coles notes in Canada is the equivalent of cliff notes in the Americas.
I forget you guys are sheltered and not very international with your ways.
but good guess though, I'm sure you googled it.

Bonus points for you, if you can utilize google to its maximum potential, and tell me where we got "coles notes" from. I might even offer you a participation trophy for the effort
Not gonna lie, I thought you had mis-typed and I was making fun. But here ya go:

  • The Coles bookstore first published Coles Notes in 1948. The first title published was on the French novella Colomba by Prosper MĂ©rimĂ©e. In 1958, Jack Cole and Carl Cole, founders of Coles, sold the U.S. rights to Coles Notes to Cliff Hillegass who then published the books under CliffsNotes . By 1960, Coles notes sales had peaked.

Yes in electric mode IIRC it's only 20-25 miles. I'd like to see it more around 50 miles which I'm sure is coming soon.
Surely soon..SOLID STATE batteries will be showing up soon!

That article has SEVERAL errors and misstatements in it.
(I had a 2012, so I know)

Why, because the things mentioned in the article didn't happen to you personally? Elaborate.

That should be against the law! No worries Duke I'm not into that whole Jeep (or any cult) thing like some are. And nobody better stick one of those ducks on mine either! ??
Dave, I luv ya man, but if you put a Grumper on the front of your Jeep and I ever see you in public, I will intentionally look the other way and pretend I didn't see you. :p

Then when you're safely out of sight I will run up to it and install a duck.

I live in the sticks and I've seen some "questionable" mods done to vehicles, but the Grumper is like a drug-fueled melding of Mad Max and Hello Kitty. It just ain't right.

I bought a brand new 2017 Wrangler after exhaustive research into them.

Below is a brief synopsis of the major issues.

TIPM: Totally Integrated Power Module. Ugh. Google it. Too much to list.

2012: First year of the 3.6 Pentastar. MANY issues with the driver side cylinder head. Chrysler extended the warranty on them but the issue persisted into 2013 and the 3rd or 4th revision of the cylinder head.

2013: Ongoing cylinder head issues that were seemingly resolved mid year but Jeep introduced a new issue with the redesigned oil cooler. Jeep wanted to use the same cooler for the new Cherokee 3.2 Pentastar so a new version was released that was very problematic until the 2015 model year and 6 or 7 revisions to the cooler. Cooler would crack and dump all the engine oil down the back of the engine. Some engine were lost due to how quickly it could dump it.

2015 - 2017: Best years of the JK. Oil cooler housing finally resolved. Still some issues but minor compared to the engine issues.

2018: New Transmission Control solenoid pack inside the transmission that would randomly fail leaving you stranded with a No Start.

2012-2018, ie, entire Pentastar run: Casting sand in the engine that could clog up the cooling and heater cores (my 2017 experienced this but I dumped it before it could cause me an issue).

That said, the Wrangler used to be the most reliable Jeep simply due to the fact that it didn't have all the electronic "stuff" that's in the other Jeeps.

That changed with the introduction of the JL which now has all the "stuff".

I encountered many folks who would defend the reliability of their Jeep despite encountering what I would consider major issues. And honestly, lots of people have the Wrangler as a toy and don't put a lot of miles on them. Someone on a Jeep trail ride back in 2018 "My 2012 has been great. No issues with the cylinder heads". It had 22k miles in 2018.

Some were indeed reliable, but the anecdotal evidence of one being decent is overwhelmed by the constant position at the bottom of reliability charts.

I currently have a Jeep Grand Cherokee. It took me a lot of time and $$ to fix Chrysler engineering "decisions" to get it to the point of being something I would be able to count on.

Hey, it's a Jeep thing. You wouldn't understand.

lol...No ducks! ?

I have no intension of putting one on or any of the other questionable "Jeep mods". I'm going to leave it mostly stock for a while while adding a few mods like rock rails (I don't like the factory ones) cargo liner, sill protectors and stuff like that.

I really don't care for the front bumper and found this one the there day. It's subtle and not to obtrusive.
