Received my MBS Dipstick last week, easy install (watch the video).
Measured it at 6 on dipstick, truck has 18,000 miles and occasional clunks when shifting.
Nobody around here carries Mercon ULV so I ordered it online.
20 oz. filled the pan to between 4-5. I'll continue to listen for the clunky shift, but have not heard one since.
Thank you Mike for a great product!!!

Installed mine today... Had to use a breaker bar through the passenger wheel well to loosen the transmission bolt. Measured 9 on the dipstick... 35k miles on the 2019 truck... Glad I checked

Glad you got it in, you mean 6 not 9, sounds like another one that's low on fluid!

Just got mine installed this week while doing all my fluids at 30K miles. Installed this along with the PPE pan. Very well made product that makes checking and filling the transmission much easier. Much thanks to Mike for a great product.

@Fitzmotor Let me know when you get one for the F-150. I traded my Ranger for a 24 RCSB 4x4 with the 5.0, and would LOVE a trans dipstick !! Wish I was closer to ya to be a test subject. The folks on the F150Gen14 forum are almost as good as the people here and are also complaining about no trans dipstick.

Just ordered after watching quangdon's video and after viewing the website Mike has. It was easy and am thinking FRI or SAT I will see it for real. Thanks Mike for a great product and peace of mind.

@Fitzmotor I'm considering the deep PPE pan for my 2020 Ranger as I do some travel trailer towing in Arizona from time to time - does your dipstick work that pan, or is it only workable with the factory plastic pan?

Hey Dan, it works with any pan, the proper level is the same no matter what the pan is, full is full, the volume can be small or large, the level is the same.

Thanks for your interest?

I installed #4 and it has turned my transmission maintenance from a nightmare to simpler than changing my engine oil.

I had terrible transmission issues starting at around 5K and becoming very very serious at 18K.

I've sucked out 7 quarts twice now in the last 2K miles and added LubeGard Platinum, and my transmission problems appear to be gone! After the first change things greatly improved, but the shift from 3rd to 4th was a little harsher than the other gears, and I heard a rattle when the solenoid energized to shift the gear.

I just completed my second change and this has got me to 75% new fluid.

50% of the fluid was replaced on the first time around, 75% the 2nd time, and if I do a 3rd pass I'll be at 87.5% new fluid. I replaced the LubeGard using the same ratio. I figure I lost 50% and replaced that amount.

I have driven the truck 500 miles since the last transmission fluid change and it is shifting like new. And no rattles!

I simply suck the fluid out through the dip stick tube into 2 marked gallon jugs. Marks are at each quart level. Takes me 30 minute to do the job and I do not spill a drop.

And my transmission was saved largely by the advice and work of two people on this forum.

Fitz for making the dip stick, and ctechbob for recommending LubeGard Platinum with a fluid change.

I had been to the dealer when I first started getting intermittent rough shifts and crazy hard jerks when coming to a stop, I was told they all do that. It is normal. I did not go back. I went almost a year barely driving it, hoping Ford service would wise up and that maybe a few astute forum members would come up with something.

Those forum folks came through!

And Ford Service appears to be waking up to the issue as well.

My recommendation: Purchase and install the dipstick, and at the first sign of shift issue, change out the fluid and add LubeGard Platinum. If you let the truck sit over night you'll get 7 to 7.5 quarts out. Replace with the exact amount.

Hi, Mike.

My 10R80 F-150 and 10R60 Bronco wanted me to pass on to you that they feel left out!

(Any progress/mileposts on those fronts or just sticking with the Ranger edition for now? I'm keeping an eye out on F150Gen14 and Bronco6g and regularly checking in at the MBS website, just in case.)

Cheers!

Hi Mike:

Are you still fabricating and selling these dip sticks?

And if so, do you ship to Canada?

What is the best approach for purchasing?

Thanks in advance.

Hey Rob, let me see if Shopify, the website host is set up to ship to Canada, you can go on the website and have a look around though, why don’t you email me your address though the website contact and I can look it up.
Thanks, Mike
