Just got mine installed this week while doing all my fluids at 30K miles. Installed this along with the PPE pan. Very well made product that makes checking and filling the transmission much easier. Much thanks to Mike for a great product.
Love driving around a time bomb. I think once that bushing starts to slide in the CDF drum it will start to show symptoms as you had. Once it has moved to the point of blocking the fluid passages it is a total failure. Mine is at 30K now and I plan on keeping it as long as I've had my 97 F-350...
I just saw that in the Wrangler TJ owner's manual to use the 75W-140 synthetic for trailer towing. It does look like a few folks are running that in their TJs with the Dana 44.
If I towed a lot or all the time I might go with that 140, but I'll stick to 75W-90 synthetic every 30K.
They must have changed in late 21 then. My build 08/21 has the drain plug on the lower front side of the differential like most of them. That might have been a change by Dana more than Ford.
I have a pair of diamond pattern chains as I've found them to be easy on and off. They are tight on my stock AT 265/70 17 tires. I have not had to use them yet, but I carry them when traveling in Washington going over Snoqualmie Pass or headed down toward Boise. You just never know.
They are...
Sorry to hear of your bad experience. The transmission was one of the strong points for me. Buttery smooth so far. Wish you better luck with the Maverick.
Thank you for posting your comparisons.
The squared off wheel wells, uncomfortable seating and the biggest detractors for me was the dog of an engine as you mentioned and a transmission that wouldn't stop hunting. It always felt like it was fighting a headwind. I liked the new Nissan Frontier...
I will have to give this a try. I know when I'm on spotify (android auto) and scrolling with the up/down arrows it will pause every so often "for my safety" then allow me to scroll again. Frustrating.
Very cool area if you have time to explore. I stayed at an RV camp just east of Pagosa Springs (Pagosa Riverside Campground) a few years back after coming over Wolf Creek Pass. Chimney Rock is a worthwhile place to visit. We went in the spring and the river walk along the San Juan was beautiful.
There is some time needed and the key fob needs to be not detected. I tested this as I was concerned that someone without a key could smash a window and open my tailgate. Or, unlock the truck by reaching through an open window to unlock it.
I found out at least for my truck that if I place my...
I know that is does have a Rzeppa joint versus a pinion flange. Could see this as a benefit for going to bigger tires and maintaining the drive line without dropping the TC or rotating the rear axle to maintain the drive line.
I do not know the durability of that Rzeppa joint or if there is an...
For me the price and that gigantic screen taking up the dashboard.
I love my Tremor and will be holding on to that. My last truck purchase was 2004, so I tend to hold onto things.
Congratulations on your new truck! As a long time lurker myself, and now new owner I can understand how you will feel when you finally get to drive it home.
Pretty much how it went. It is just held on by 2 strips of double-sided tape. Blow dryer and floss then some Goo Gone gel to get the grey residue off. Cleaned the area up some and can't even tell it was there anymore.
Don't mind saying. It was $42,100 + WA State TT&L. After watching prices for the past year or so I knew it was in the ballpark of what I was willing to pay. The itch needed to be scratched.
Thanks for all the replies fellas. My long search has happily come to an end. I found the exact truck I wanted with a Tremor package as icing on the cake. Funny enough It was just after reading an article on Canadian vehicles coming back home across the border. Bought this in Kent, WA at a...
