Livernois Towing Tune, who's running it?

How do you know this? You're assuming too then right? Yeah the article has a trailer mentioned often but it's not about towing. Wow. Well I asked we'll see. Those are some LOW performance tune numbers then.

Did Livernois even have a tow specific tune then?

I was thinking that when they first released the tuner that there was no specific tune for towing. If that was the case it would make sense that the other tunes were more conservative.

Of course, that's from my memory banks which are apparently based on Chinese TLC NAND with a limited number of read/writes.

I know that the FPP tune initially was not meant for towing but they later updated the tune to allow it.

I'm not sure when they came out with the tow tune. I got mine the first week of August 2020 and they had it then. I've tried all of them and didn't care for the tow tune and have been using the 91-93 soft shift tune.

Well if you tow you can't run the hipo tune... It actually makes a HUGE difference over the oem premium fuel tune.

I have been running the tow tune for about a week now. Shifts are still pretty janky while it relearns so holding my opinion for now. Still get the “lugging” though maybe mildly improved?

Apparently it's all in the eyes of the reader. I immediately thought it was a article for a tow tune. I mean they wouldn't have a trailer on it for a performance tune. And it says a boost for towing a trailer. The tow tune doesn't change the shift pattern that I'm aware of. It shouldn't lug with the tow mode pushed. You can contact them and have them delay the shift points

If I remember correctly it was either late may to mid june that Livernois released the Tow tune. When I got mi e in 2020 I honly had the high and low octance performance tunes. It was a few weeks later the tow tune was released and then I got it as soon as possible. To say the least I prefer the Tow tune overall just because the power output is nice along with the fact I do not have to switch tunes if I want to tow.

if it was confirmed that was one of the worst written articles I’ve read in a long time. Nowhere in that article did it say they ran the dyno with the tow tune.

You should try the soft shift performance tune. Very smooth shifts and good performance with the 91-93 tune.

AZ and I are in alignment. The Performance and Tow tunes both use sequential shifting which, in my opinion, is a bit over the top with a 10-spd transmission for daily use. I prefer their soft-shift 91-93 Perf. tune because you get the added power with the smoothness of skipping gears for normal driving.

That being said, if you enjoy buying tires more frequently, the regular 91-93 Performance tune is what you're looking for. That shit will snap your head back right quick.

lf im on an easy trail or just doing fire roads I leave my tune in. If I’m doing more aggressive off roading I’ll flash back to the stock tune. I forgot to do this one time and it can fat squirrelly fast when you don’t need all that power. lol

I rock crawl with the performance soft shift. I'm typically in Sport mode when off-road and shifting with my thumb anyway, especially going down slopes in 4lo to save my brakes. It's got plenty of torque to get you up pretty much anything.

So if it was written in June, it's very possible that a Tow specific tune wasn't even available at the time of writing as the testing was likely a short time before the article was written. Or they got it just before publishing and neglected to mention it.

That would explain why they never say that it's a Tow tune, just a Performance tune.

If a Tow tune was available and they neglected to specify that they were using it in an article that focuses on towing, then it's just poor writing.

Which nowadays is the norm for lots of web articles.
