I've had the Livernois soft shift tune for about 2 years now, and it's the best bang for your buck mod you can do to these trucks. After adding bigger tires, my mileage went down, and you felt the weight when accelerating. This tune seemed to "restore" the power and the truck glides through the gears now. The best part was my trip mileage improved significantly and generally can get around 400 miles out of a tank on road trips.

I like it so much, I haven't tried the towing or performance tune yet, but am curious: if I wanted to change tunes, do I need to go back to stock first, or just choose the different tune I want to go with and follow the on-screen directions?

Can't speak for the Livernois tuner specifically, but in my Focus ST days if you want to change tunes you just flash in the new one. Shouldn't be any need to go back to stock since you're just overwriting whats on there, it doesn't modify the existing stock tune.

I've been considering getting the livernois tune for quite sometime however, and I love the idea of getting some of my mpg's back for crusing since around here 80 mph isn't exactly the happy spot for mileage. I don't think I've ever seen 400 miles on a tank...aside from maybe one where most of the trip I was driving 55 or so...

Glad to hear you've been enjoying the tune and thanks for the feedback! Yes sir that is correct like RangerPNW mentioned there is no need to revert back to stock between tunes. Simply connect the tuner to your vehicle and select the Programming, Performance Cals menu, and select the next tune of choice. Also if it's been a few years since you had last updated we've released multiple newer revisions of the 91-93 octane performance tuning as well. So you can always submit a new tune request form to ensure you have the latest and greatest tunes, and there is now an option for requesting tunes right on the Mycal app as well.

That is correct it's the same process with our Mycal when switching tunes. Feel free to give us a shout if you'd like to discuss our offerings a bit further or have any questions, we would be happy to help!

Even with the Livernois tune it will be tough to get great Fuel mileage when doing an average of 80 MPG

When I still had my ranger I was able to get a good bit of fuel mileage. Last year when i took a trip to Michigan I was able to get around 24 on the way there. On the way back it was more like 17....... Damn headwind......

70 mph seems to be the sweet spot for still obtaining good mileage. Although on our trip in June there were many times I was going 80-85 mph for long distances through WY and I still averaged 23.9. I've tried all the tunes and still think the 91-93 soft shift is the best one for my style of driving.

70 is where I keep it if I want mpg. As soon as I need to go fast I stop looking at the mpg stuff and get there faster.

It is amazing how fast it takes off when you step on it at 70 mph. ?

Too many LEOs here to talk about what happens when the go pedal hits the floor at that sort of speed after the tune.

It isn't mpgs.. more like the mph needle rising surprisingly fast. (Never exceeding the local speed limit of course)

Most customers report seeing 1-2 mpg better than stock on average, some have said even better. But fuel mileage can vary quite a bit depending on the long list of variables like octane of fuel how they drive which tune they are running etc.

I noticed a 2 mpg bump up after installing mine. That's IF I can keep my foot out of it. ? ?

Update: do not leave your music volume set it 1 or maybe 2.... making you think you are hearing a weird knock noise that has a rythm to it but not that of a 4 cyl.

I did not figure this out from direct experience this morning while letting it warm up just a bit before taking off........ ... ... ..

Not knocking. Still awesome. My tires still hate me.

Sure it would not hurt to roll down the window and reach into the truck to use the Mycal. Saving stock is typically the longest of the steps and only takes about 15-20 mins rough estimate all depending on the exact vehicle. When installing the tune they are much quicker thankfully.
I always flash mine like this. Press go and walk away (window down). Proud user of soft shift tow tune! IMO the best all around daily.
