I had a recent issue with my tuner device that I got from LMS in April 2020 (touch screen crapped out). They were great about troubleshooting and later arranging to have it sent back for replacement. A new device is heading my way with everything transferred over, plus copies of updated tunes that came out after my initial purchase. You can't ask for much more than that IMO.

I've had my Livernois 91-93 hard shift tune installed for over 58K now......still runs perfect!

Note for flashing.....I've flashed back and forth from performance to stock when going to the dealer or whatever many times. I have had issues with accidentally leaving a usb charge cable connected or an apple lightning cable connected and had the tune flash error out on me. It's never been an issue to recover if something has gone south during a flash. Now I just get in, disconnect everything, touch nothing and my ECU flashes go without incident.....

Thanks so much for the kind words guys! Sorry to hear you've had issues but I am extremely glad to hear the recovery mode on the Mycal and our customer service /troubleshooting steps have helped to make things as painless as possible for you. Always love to hear when things have gone well and that the trucks are still running strong even nearly 60k miles down the road. Thanks again!

Just had a nice scare. Flashed to try out the towing tune. Didn't like it. Flashed back a few days later (tonight) to the 91-93 soft shift..... And CEL for crank signal. I saw an option for a relearn on the Livernois calibration box and it worked. Panic followed by relief that was an easy fix. No idea why it did it and don't know what half the other options meant besides the obvious - but that one works. It is picky about temp... Has to be warm to relearn the crank signal and clear that code. Asked me to Rev to a hyper specific rpm 3 times. 3349 or something like that.

Also noticed the calibration box was picking up transfer case codes on my 2wd with no CEL and nothing on my normal code reader. However, no CEL and running normally... I'll take it.

I'll report back tomorrow on how it does going to the gym, work, etc. I really hope the codes stay away. That wasn't fun to see. I tried to flash back to stock first in a panic, but that didn't work. Fun night!

Got to work this morning with no CEL and running fine. Still a bit worried I'm going to see that damn yellow/orange bulb light back up.....
Also odd it was able to run at all of it couldn't "see" it's crank sensor.
Edit: and I just sent them a question about what happened without providing the make/model/etc... Because I'm a bit dense...

I didn't care for the tow tune either and went back to the 91-93 soft shift which I love. Seems like it should be fine now the CEL is gone, maybe just a glitch in the Mycal?

Livernois (I would think) should be able to pull up your records from your email and see the make & model. Don't worry those brain fart become normal the older you get.

Maybe just a glitch. Followed all the no touchy rules and battery was good and charged. If it was the box being weird I am happy said box had the relearn option for that sensor and it didn't need to go to the dealership.

Google seems to indicate this isn't unusual when screwing around with tuning. Also the PCM is doing the work on the relearn - the box was just giving me instructions from the PCM. Again if Google and internet people can be trusted.

I wonder if forscan could do the relearn as well?

Confirmed. Code never returned and running as strong as ever. Glad they added that relearn to the mycal box thing.

Best endorsement for this product so far.... Wife took the truck out to go get groceries as I was blocking the minivan. She came home and asked me what the f#$@ was wrong with me for doing that to the Ranger. Confirmed non-gear head noticed the change.

Sorry to hear you were having troubles with a DTC for the crank sensor after switching tunes, but very glad to hear you've figured it out already. As you've mentioned if anyone runs into this type of situation there is a crank relearn option in the Mycal's service functions menu. It will give some prompts about starting the truck and letting it get up to the correct temperature range. Then once it's reached the temp it will give you some prompts to rev the engine and things of that nature to perform the crankshaft position relearn. Also feel free to give us a call if anything unusual like this comes up guys we are always happy to help. Thanks again for the kind words!

Thank you guys for adding that function and preventing a trip to a dealership. Once I found the tool/option, super easy to use. Assuming someone can follow very clear three word instructions in a simple sequence.

Where can I find a list of the available tunes for the Ranger? I think this will likely be my next upgrade but wondering what all is available and how many extra tunes I should buy.

Some other questions: Does this also change the pattern if the truck is in Sport mode, or does it just change the Drive setting? Does it update the tow mode as well, or if I'm planning to tow do I have to flash it to the new tow tune and then use Drive?

If you want to make it easy just install the Tow Tune from Livernoise and leave it be. Yes you will get more.power than stock and when you go to tow you don't have to flash the tune. If you run a performance tune(regardless of tuner) it is not recommended to tow with said performance tune unless the tuner states that you can. That said in the book it also states for towing and performance to run premium fuel (91 and higher).

I echo Frenchy's assessment of the tow tune. It's easy to daily and still provides a healthy bump in HP/TQ.

I also might have a Livernois tuner for sale very inexpensively in the Colorado for sale section... ?

Some ppl may not like the downshifts with Tow Tune. But Agree set and forget with the tow tune is nice just for the 87-91/93 auto adjustment.
