Has anyone run an Extreme LED or ProComp bar? I'm looking at the 20" and cant decide between a single row (Extreme LED) or double row (procomp). I wouldn't mind the Diode Dynamics 18" but I'm having a hard time justifying the cost plus shipping when the other options are cheaper with free shipping. Have you guys been able to mount these sizes with just what comes with the lights or is everyone needing special brackets?

Finally got the set up installed. Svc off-road bar and Baja design combo.

I like how large the reflectors are on that. Larger reflectors = better light!

Hey All

A little plug for an Australian light company "STEDI". - https://www.stedi.com.au

I ended up going way overboard on My ranger with a 23.3" all flood light and twin Quad spots. I think it looks pretty cool with the nudge bar that provides a solid mounting point.

The combination of flood and spot provides an epic amount of near and far field light. Certainly enough to dazzle the wildlife.

Just FYI to all, I believe all this is are light pods installed using the factory trim screw holes. Really any light pod with a single point bracket will work here, there are four of these trim screws in this location.

I actually used two to install a 22" light bar. Just more a PITA with a bar than a pod, have to install it from inside the engine bay area (remove the two front shrouds) to be able to tighten it down properly. I also drilled a small hole in the non-functional honeycomb for the wire cause I didn't want to kink it.

I also highly suggest you lay a heavy coat of wax on your lenses in this area as its going to get hit with all sorts of crap from bugs to grime. Also helps delay onset of yellowing. Really I apply wax to all my lights, but down here especially.

Did you say this WORKS with adaptive cruise control? I have wanted to use it but needed to verify that it will not mess with that control unit/sensor in the area.
Yes, this absolutely works with ACC.

Some observations from an avid off-road enthusiast:
- The lights you buy from Amazon, that seem reasonably priced, are NOT waterproof. Eventually you will get condensation behind the lens, or water intrusion. Rigid, Baja Designs, etc. are 100% waterproof. I've forged many rivers with Rigid lights completely submerged, and never had any issues. Just be aware.
- The factory holes will be fine for holding a lightbar in place for on-road use and gentle off-road use. The trails we run with our Raptors would rip the bracket free eventually. In fairness, these trails can rip the fillings in your teeth loose.
- Cheap lights come with plastic lenses and can easily get scratched or broken by road debris.
- Cheap lights are a LOT dimmer than expensive lights, which may or may not be an issue for you. At 80mph off-road, in the dark, you can easily outrun the light-throw of your aux lighting.
I’ve had a set of auxbeam side shooters and led light bar on my Jeep’s and Ford’s. No issues with anything you mentioned. Fact is bigger companies are using these and putting their names on them. Some change the reflectors or lens but the internals are pretty much all the same. I for one am sick of paying for “American Made” stuff that is just as shitty or rusts and rots away the same as the cheap stuff…

For the folks still struggling with light bar brackets in the front that cannot block the radar unit. I've had this on for quite some time with no issues. It's sturdy, comes in different sizes and multiple holes for different types of lights. I have a 30" curved light bar on mine from Rough Country.

from what I can tell on the RC website, It looks like the mounts for this lightbar are on the ends. How did you mount this lightbar to the license plate mounting plate?

I used the bar from svc. It has so many mounting holes that now it almost makes me feel like I need to get more lights.

Just finished adding this 22” light bar from NiLight https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B019Q0WEPS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Had to make my own L brackets as included ones were not a good fit for this location.

I also wired using this remote wiring kit https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07B3Y2D1X/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Im very pleased with the look and light output and it was super easy to install and wire up.

Angle on the final pic is bad because any further straight on made the pic unusable ha.

Just wanted to thank you for this! I bought the same light bar as you. Ended up making my own brackets by using steel tie plates (bent/flexed and trimmed as needed). https://www.homedepot.com/p/Simpson...-20-Gauge-Galvanized-Tie-Plate-TP15/100375260

Here's some pics
