Help! I've been at it for 3 hours. There has to be an easier to way to get the fog light replacement back in the friggen hole!!!
The passenger side bulb was a *pain* because getting it flat to twist was nearly impossible. It took me about 20 minutes to get it back in after sending less than 5 total on the driver's side. All I can say is it's a lot of wiggling just right and remember that it locks in after a clockwise rotation, so the base of the bulb needs to be pointed towards the outside (right) of the truck to go in.

Thanks for the prompt response. Yeah it's the passenger side I'm stuck on. Knowing the orientation helps. I'll try again after the pain in my hands subside a bit.

I installed the Hikaris in the fog lights in about 20 minutes. Of course, it may be because I have slender hands and wrists

I shouldn't laugh, but I did a little. It's a royal pita and I remember shredding my hands/forearms pretty good.

Can confirm that long slender hands paired with skinny wrists are a big plus when changing out these bulbs. Once I took off my gloves and and rolled up my jacket sleeves it took me maybe 20 minutes same. Finally all that teasing about being skinny and lanky in HS is paying off. haha

Hopefully replacing with the pods from DD will be considerably easier.

Man my forearms and wrists hurt from the crash bar screws rubbing against them..Ha. Ok so things got 80% easier for me after figuring out the best angle and arm to use for each side. For the passenger side, using the left arm and positioning myself so that my torso was laying right under the front bumper with my head just in front of the passenger side wheel helped tremendously. For the other side, just flipped my position and used my right arm. As my ex used to tell me "once I got the right leverage and position I was finding the spot every single time.."....LOL! Thanks for all your guys' input. These boards rock. On to the next mod.

Women have a way of getting what they want...

How difficult does it look to just swap out thentire housing and install a pod from DD?

Any updates on the Car Rovers?
Working well so far. Really pleased with the light pattern and output. I almost wish I didn't put the Morimoto's in my Colorado. I think the Car Rovers would be just as good and a lot cheaper.

Yes, yes they do. I'll admit that I was happy when my wife said the stock ranger lights suck. I was more than happy to upgrade. I have a thing for lights....

Yes it is quite nice to be able to see the road at night. Really looking forward to getting the new fog lights installed.

Question: Do your headlights (fog, lows, or highs) come on at slightly different times? For instance, my passenger side light comes on a split second before my drivers side light, for any light (fog, lows, or highs). It's not as noticeable with the halogens, but since the LEDs come on essentially instantaneously, you can see it happen with them. And because of this, when I start the truck and the fogs are already turned on, the quick light stutter just from starting the truck causes the passenger one to cycle colors before the driver one can even turn on, resulting in them being out of sync.

To fix that I just do a very quick few cycles of the fogs (push the fog light button very quickly a few times) to essentially do the same thing that created the problem: cycle the passenger side one before the drivers side even turns on once. Theoretically an odd number of cycles will fix it, but usually I just mash the button for a few seconds and by the end they've been synced.

To keep that from ever happening in the first place though, I've started to always turn off the fog lights before turning off the truck, so that they don't try to come on while the truck is starting. Now that I've started to do that, I haven't had any problems at all. And they've been an amazing set of fogs! The whites are great for normal clear driving, and the yellows have been great for the now majority snow covered roads and snowy conditions.

Feel free to DM me if you are still having trouble, want to know more, or have questions.
I think you are right about the slight flickering on startup, and the difference between the halogens and the LEDs (with their difference in startup times, etc). Giving the fog light button a bunch of really quick presses on and off does tend to get them back in sync with regard to their color. I will also take your advice with turning the fog lights off before turning off the truck to see if that stops it from happening.

But, with the lights on "auto", which turns the high beams on and off automatically, I have seen that cause the high beams to get out of sync when they both came on properly (same color) at startup. So there must be an intermittent flicker at times. It's not a huge deal, though, and now that we know how to get them back in sync, we have some semblance of a solution/band-aid. If it continues to annoy me, I'll just go with full-time yellow bulbs. But it *is* nice to have the option to switch between the two colors, so I'm good for now.

Yeah, I've turned off auto high beams, for various reasons. They work really well on rural roads where you don't get too much oncoming traffic. But on my work commute there's just enough traffic, spaced just right, that they were flicking on and off so often and quickly it looked like I was constantly flashing people. And with my new very bright LED high beams, that'll piss a lot of people off.

In relation to high beams and the dual color fogs, another annoyance that I've come to terms with is that since the fogs change color by cycling the lights, they also change color anytime you turn on/off your high beams (and the fogs were already on too). So to remedy that, anytime I will be using my high beams I just have the fogs turned off. Again, not the best solution, but it works for me. It may be the nail in the coffin for you. I've grown to like their functionality so much over the last month or so, that I'm more than happy to put up with the eccentricities and keep them.

Does anyone have experience with Hikari Ultra and Hikari 2020? What are the differences between the two? Also - will they both allow for the dust caps to be used?
Appreciate any input and information on these two bulbs. Thanks.
