Latest Sync Update Issues

So does the system only update when it's connected to your Wi-Fi? I'm not sure how it could do it while driving down the road but then again I'm not a technology wizard. Wonder if I should leave the ignition on while it's parked at home for a while?

You don't need to leave the ignition on. Here's something I learned here.
Open the door to your parked truck with WIFI access. Hit the radio volume button and the radio screen wakes up. You don't need to use a key. Navigate to the check for updates screen and let it do it's thing. I just get out of the truck, close the door and go about my business.

Only while connected to Wifi. While in my garage with the truck in accessories mode then I put a battery charger on it. I checked back every 15 minutes and after about 45 it was done. Battery charger will stay on until it shows fully charged.

I didn't need a charger. I didn't need to put into accessories mode either. It's not that difficult.

I charge my battery every few months regardless. It always seems to take a few hours to fully charge. Our trucks are hard on the battery system.

AGM batteries aren't supposed to get charged to the same voltage as traditional batteries; you're probably just cooking it rather than helping it. If it is an AGM-specific charger it's supposed to take a long time; they don't like to be quick charged. Normal full charge is somewhere around 13.0-13.8V, depending on temperature (hotter is lower).

It's really odd because mine will work fine but if I shut the truck off to go into a store real quick when I come back out it won't work. If I turn the truck off again and wait a while it'll turn back on. It seems to only impact Sirrius satellite. I've just started doing a soft reboot and that allows the satellite to work again. It's a total pain in the ass that Ford really needs to fix!

I have the exact same symptoms the past week or so on my 2021 Lariat! Hope they find a fix

My parking assist graphics have always been on my SYNC screen. Only thing I had on my instrument cluster screen was lane keeping. Besides I don't think SYNC updates mess with the instrument cluster screen.

I saw in the UK, I think, the ranger has parallel parking assist, but I don't think we have that in NA, do we?

Yep - I have this happen to me frequently during the week. Soft reset fixes it, but it is annoying.

Yes the sensors in the bumpers that tell you when your close to something.

No in NA we do not get automatic parallel parking.

Not sure if its related to the recent Sync updates but none of the remote actions show up in my Ford Pass app. No lock/unlock or remote start. Tried uninstalling/reinstalling and yesterday I removed/readded the vehicle. I don't care too much since I have a remote start module so I can use my key but still weird.

Question, for those who have updated to the latest build via USB. Once finished, did you log back on to Ford and upload the XML flie? Reason I ask is about 4 months ago I updated to the latest build Via USB, install went great no issues. About 2 weeks ago I noticed that the Screen was doing another download, the same version that I already installed, I do have auto updates enabled. Well after one week the thing was still trying and has frozen all user operation on the screen. I did a master reset and the screen just sat black for a day, did a soft reboot with the USB connected this morning on the 40 minute drive in, and its now trying to update. Got to work had to shut the truck off, hopefully it will continue and finish after my 40 min drive back home. I wonder if all this was caused because I did not upload the XML log, so ford thought I had the old rev and pushed the download. Perhaps this confused the unit and put the console in limbo. I do know one thing, once I get this sorted out, auto download is getting turned off as its hokey at best.,

I was having the issue with SiriusXM when I first did the update but it seemed to go away. Yesterday it seems to have come back and I had to do a soft reset three times.

I have the same issues after the upgrade to build 20120. Drive a bit stop the vehicle turn off and if it is restarted before it goes fully to sleep there is no audio or control of Sirius, am-fm works soft reset will bring it back or leave truck off for 15-20 minutes it resets. 2020 ranger
