My infotainment system just upgraded last week to the latest all on it's own. While I love the new layout as I think it's much more usable and provides more information, it has a couple bugs that annoy me.
  • Every so often Sirius XM bugs out and won't play. No signal or anything. The radio and all other features do work and eventually it'll come back on but it goes out every other day.
  • When receiving texts it tells goes off like a pinball machine telling me I received multiple texts from different people, none of which are received. One text and it may chime saying I received six texts, all from different people.
Anyone else experiencing this and any ideas on how to correct it?

Thanks,
Scott

I’ve had a similar experience with the latest update and SiriusXM. You’re not alone! No clue how to fix it though.

I too am having the same issue with Sirius after the recent updates.
Sirius stopped again today when I restarted the Ranger after driving it for a while. I did a "soft reset" and Sirius started playing again.

I also noticed that the automatic updates are downloading additional files while I am at home and connected to my WiFi. I now show Nav Maps are at NA 2 20. I wonder if the downloading (its not finished yet) is causing the Sirius problem???

I haven't had Sirius radio problems. But I know other people have. There are a few threads about that here

Be interesting to know how long the update takes. You think Ford would let you know your unit is updating.
How do you do a soft reset?

I updated last week.

I haven't had the XM issues, but I also haven't driven much lately. I'll take it out tomorrow for errands and see.

I do have the text issues, but have also had that since day one. Multiple phones, so it's definitely a Sync issue.

Mine updated about 2 weeks ago, and I haven’t had traffic data since. Done soft and master resets, none worked. Contacted Sirius and they weren’t any help. The Problem seems to be on Fords end. I am also constantly getting map file updates, which take forever to download and when that’s done...there’s another one...and another...

I too am receiving map file updates very slowly. I think I am getting about three per day and I believe there are 14 files for the map update. :frown:

I have not checked for traffic data; retired and don't care. :like:

Mine updated yesterday and freaked me out. Nothing worked, black screen even bon the backup cam. I didn't know it was updating. I started it today to see if I could figure out what was going on with it, and Sync rebooted telling me it had updated. Everything seems ok so far except my parking sensors. Not sure what this has to do with it but my yellow and red parking indicator graphics are not showing up in the center council. The truck still plays the beeps and the tone when parking but no graphics. Any ideas?

Check settings in Sync. I believe there is an option that turns the guidelines off/on. I don’t remember exactly where it is and I’m not near my truck to double check.

I used to get text alerts on sync before my phone would alert, now it's the opposite. I also noticed and hate that my cross traffic alert radar in the tail lights now shows on the lower left corner of my dash and not on the screen on the camera. DUMB! Still get the audible alert early but no longer get the arrow pointing the direction the traffic is coming from. ?

I literally just had this happen. I hadn’t seen the thread yet and did a master reset. Now going in and re-pairing my phone and that sorta stuff. Being an IT guy, I thought maybe their configuration got dorked during the update. Not unheard of other places and I’ve seen some devices require being set back to factory defaults after an update or as part of it. That’s thankfully rare now, but doesn’t mean that something wasn’t missed in QA that caused this. We’ll see I guess. Radio is working again now so hopefully that’s the end of it.
