I've had K&N filters on most of my vehicles and they seem to help to a degree... I was thinking about getting one for my Ranger but was wondering if anyone's bought one and has it increased the mileage at all?

They are ok for moving air but they are terrible filters. Save your money. Many here have given them away. Any mileage gains would be negligible.

Only good one is the cabin filter. Got one from MY23Ranger and saves me around 20 bucks everytime I clean it, instead of replacing.
Would never use one for an engine air filter....nope.....nada.....never.....

I bought one for my house, which I sold a year later so it was a waste.

Did you use it? If so did it make a difference? Where are you located i.e west coast, south east etc.? I'm in Jacksonville Florida.

I have been using one for 75k miles. I have always used them in my trucks. I clean them periodically. More air the better. Does it improve mileage... Dunno... hard to say as I am usually doing more than one thing to improve mileage and I didnt do a proper before/after with the k/n on the Ranger. At some point in the far past, I did a before and after and it made a difference. I have been using them ever since. I will say, I notice a difference in the drive/response when I drop them in. Could be my imagination... I know that kind of thing can be subjective.

I've usually felt a difference in performance (or a perceived difference) and in my Tacoma and Frontier V-6's I got maybe a .5 mpg gain in city and 1 mpg on the highway. Just wondering if a turbo engine will respond accordingly (my first turbo anything)
Thanks

AEM makes a dry version, I think it's a little cheaper too, if we're talking replacements for the paper and not the full on cone intake.

I wouldn’t put an oil bath ( K&N) on anything with a turbo. UNLESS you’re going to meticulously and perfectly maintain the K&N filter. My opinion comes from a 15+ year career experience in the turbocharger service industry. Many turbo thrust bearing failures and gunked up compressor wheels and charge air coolers from poorly maintained K&N systems. Our vehicle repair shop made it a policy to not install them. I recommend the AEM dry filter.

Many people have ruined the MAF sensor by over oiling the K&N. If that's still a thing, just don't.
Our Rangers do not have a MAF sensor- only a MAPT
