Yes I didWhen you greased the splines, did you put the clamps in the exact same spot? Its a mistake I made 20 years ago and paid for it. So I mark these things now

Then the vibration is more concerning. I put fender washers between the cross member and the isolation bushing. That seemed to eliminate the rest of the vibration. I had it up to 100 and I have zero now. But I also dont have the tremor driveshaft.Yes I did
How many washers and how much rear lift do you have? Then the vibration is more concerning. I put fender washers between the cross member and the isolation bushing. That seemed to eliminate the rest of the vibration. I had it up to 100 and I have zero now. But I also dont have the tremor driveshaft.
Zero rear lift. Just one washer each bolt. Maybe i needed the correction from the factory who knows. How many washers and how much rear lift do you have?
Glad it was an easy fix and you found it fast. Next you might find the 100,000 10mm sockets we have all lost.Update: Major DOH factor. My friend who had let me use his lift texted me today. He was back in the shop and found a new tiny white teflon washer. I had installed a new ujoint and apparently one of the thrust washers that go inside the ujoint cap had fallen out while installing. So I got another ujoint and disassembled everything again. Sure enough one was missing from the new ujoint. Reassembled everything again with the new ujoint and took a test drive. Night and day difference. Not detecting any vibrations now. Want to drive it some more but so far so good. So glad my friend found that washer. Would have been pulling my and JXB’ hair put. I’m shooting off an email to them shortly to advise.

Just a question. How much did this total rebuild and balance of your driveshaft plus modification of your center support bearing with "Toyota" parts cost you? Was it cheaper than a one-piece driveshaft, that we know eliminates the issue.![]()
A little 3 month update on the JXB carrier. The driveshaft shop I went too didn't like the clam shell design and ultimately didn't want to try and balance it without using parts they trust which I understand.
Granted there were a few outside factors, one being the driveshaft wasn't very straight and two being the bearing was going out.
New u joints, carrier assembly, straightened, and balanced. Drives like new!
They machined the area a bit wider where the carrier assembly goes on so it now uses a more standard size that's common on Toyotas.
Parts and labor for everything and removal/install on the truck $500 out the door. I know what you're going to say, should've bought a 1 piece. My trucks a 2wd and nobody makes one for it, too long.Just a question. Thats what all the ladies say…Parts and labor for everything and removal/install on the truck $500 out the door. I know what you're going to say, should've bought a 1 piece. My trucks a 2wd and nobody makes one for it, too long.
I will also add they didn't charge any for their little "modification". Dana/Spicer makes Toyota shafts as well, he showed me a Toyota shaft right next to mine, identical minus a few mm's of material. Their assumption was since it was the same that the carriers would be the same, but ford had to make theirs just a tad different.Just a question.
