Anyone updating is still doing it manually. The actual Ford provided USB/OTA update is a few weeks out last I heard.Arnold, did Ford do this or did you 'force' it?

I just updated it using downloaded filesArnold, did Ford do this or did you 'force' it?
Its just software - it would be another upgrade. You can apply the 3.4 upgrade over and over if you want. Just like if it doesn't work you can go back to 3.3. That is slightly harder since it seems they made some formatting changes for 3.4, but it is still easily possible. It's all software - which is good and bad.During this lockdown Ive been very tempted to do the update. If I do, when the genuine update comes how will we go from the leaked to genuine version?
Does anyone know how to reactivate the Climate screen on an XLT? Everything I used hasn't worked (both as-built edits and enable/disable ways in Forscan). I used the APIM that was uploaded to the other topic and it worked, but it also fubar'd to many other things (namely it fubar'd my sound settings to where they couldn't be edited). Its very simple
Go to APIM and dont worry about the asbuilt stuff, The asbuilt you have to enter certain numbers but the other is just a simple enable/disable. You can also enable nav there and it will give you a simple compass on your cluster screen.
UofM- I am wondering if you can try to help me with a very perplexing issue. I noticed your credentials and am hoping you can point me in the right direction. I recently installed a Sync3 v3.4 system w/ 8" screen, non nav, (K series hardware mfd late 2019), into my 2018 F150 - Everything with the install works fine. except, my SiriusXM will not operate properly. My original Sync3 Lite system with 4" screen came with Sirius and that works. The puck antenna insalled is dual gps / Sirius. With this new 2019 mf'd ACM it has SiriusXM and HD Radio.Usually that indicates either a configuration problem or some issue with the language not matching the nav data. Shoot me a PM with a screengrab of the IVSU Versions diag screen.
Looks like 6, maybe 2 should be it. I don't work with the ACM config values though, so I'm not sure if anything needs to be changed there. My rigged up bench it's 2, my vehicle with the latest ACM it's 6. If you're not configured for X40, with a new ACM, then yeah it flat out won't work at all. Try 2 to start.UofM- I am wondering if you can try to help me with a very perplexing issue. I noticed your credentials and am hoping you can point me in the right direction. Basically I think I am missing a config somewhere in the APIM or ACM that allows SiriusXM proper communication. When I go to the Sirius source in screen, it does not display any content, entering a direct channel like 0 or 2 gives me "invalid channel" response. my Sirius presets are blank, pressing one of the Sirius presets gives "invalid channel". in the Sync3 screen's Sirius settings, the ESN value field is blank.
I am getting good sat connectivity, verified by checking the APIM diagnostics area for sat signal / position. Frankly I have spent hours on this, researched a multitude of asbuilt files for 2019-2020 F150's with SiriusXM and ensured my new asbuilt files were properly and similarly configured and have all necessary new data rows. I called Sirius and they said it should work to at least get the preview channels and view ESN. Do you have any thoughts on what may be required in asbuilt data settings for the newer hardware? I thought it may have been a setting issue with APIM 7D0-08-01 xxx* xxxx xxxx governing X40 SDARS type, but I have tried all possible values with no success. I do know that a setting of 0 or A completely shuts off my GPS and Sat connectivity. I thought 6 might be appropriate. Let me know what other information I can provide. I am experienced with Forscan programming and am a systems engineer by trade.
Thank you for your reply, sincerely appreciated. 2 was the default value and present in several comparable 2019/2020 asbuilt files - So I rolled with that one first and was not getting a resolution. I tried 4, 6 and 7 (as well as all other values, for the sake of trying), with no better result. After each change I did a forced apim reset, a master screen reset, and an acm reset.Looks like 6, maybe 2 should be it. MN is "Mobile Navigation". MS is some CAN messaging difference, but no idea what. CCS is the connected services. That's why my guess went with 'try 2' as it should toggle on just the X40 setting and leave everything else at default. Unfortunately I don't have the ACM diag decoder, so can't provide much more assistance.Interestingly, 2 uses some different settings than 6. I am not sure what "MS new" means vs "MS legacy", or "MN enabled" vs "MN disabled", or "CCS enabled / disabled". Is there any way you can find out if there are other asbuilt settings which control SiriusXM operation in the ACM or APIM? The ACM was brand new and had never been installed in a vehicle before, if that helps. Spoke with Sirius, gave them the SDARS EIN (KN8NADRE) and they did not see any issue with it. They were able to send a refresh signal to the unit.
2=MN enabled, MS Legacy, X40: X40 SDARS, CCS disabled
6=MN enabled, MS New, X40: X40 SDARS, CCS disabled
Got it- thank you for your time on this. Is CCS important for anything going forward? Are we talking Fordpass-related connectivity data or something else?MN is "Mobile Navigation". That's for the FordPass UI items and the like IIRC.Got it- thank you for your time on this. Is CCS important for anything going forward? Are we talking Fordpass-related connectivity data or something else?
good to know. thanks again, if it is ok I may have another question or two in the coming days. would it be alright if I hit you up again? basically everything I learn I write down and share it with others on the various forums as similar questions come up, or, i will document an install / mod and provide full detail for others to read. I always try to pay it forward. That's for the FordPass UI items and the like IIRC.
