Honestly, I see more concern trolling about Toyota hate than I actually see people hating Toyota.
You've seen others on here saying something about yota hate like I just did? Missed that.

Yeah, you're definitely not the first. Nobody else has had specifics, either. Certainly most people here have a reason they didn't pick the Tacoma (you pretty much have to consider the market leader when shopping). For myself I find it uncomfortable, I don't like their package/trim combinations, and I think they're overpriced due to an unwarranted perception that they have a reliability advantage compared to other new trucks. Those are just my thoughts, others have different thoughts but obviously there was some reason they bought a ranger. Not many people care so much about the Tacoma that I've seen something fairly described as "hate". There are a couple of Ford fanboys, but that's kinda expected on a Ford forum. I can think of two or three people who are pretty outspoken about their experiences with Tacomas, and at least three or four instances of some variation on "why all the Toyota bashing"? Compared to some forums where you can see threads that are literally hundreds of pages bashing trucks before they even get to market and proclaiming that other manufacturers' trucks will literally explode on the way off the dealer lot, this forum has close to nothing in terms of real flame threads. If I'm missing something feel free to cite a reference.

Oh don’t get me wrong. I knew I did NOT want a taco when I decided on a new truck. Ranger is a much better vehicle in just about every way. And yes the “fanboy” shit does get old on either side. We should all just get back to bashing Chevy again lol!

Agreed, back half looks GMish lol....
The older ones were decent. Thank you Ford trucks ?. I know we’re talking about to the Tundra but the Bronco is ? as well lol.

Someone at Toyota design is apparently a huge fan of Battlestar Galactica.

Seeing those grills reminded me of this:

So I’m trying to understand this unbridled Toyota hate (subjective opinions of the new tundras front end notwithstanding). It used to be Ford vs Chevy but nowadays Chevy is so bad that you feel guilty even dogging them. Talking shit about Chevy feels like you are kicking a puppy off a bridge or something, you’re just an asshole lol.

I’m a Ford fan through and through but #2 for me will always be Toyota. I’m all about the products, and I like Ford and Toyota products. I’ve had several Toyota vehicles that had no business running as long as they did and helped get me, and my kids, through some hard times. So anyway.
Anti-Taco sentiment on Ranger5G???? What? Where? I don't see it. :giggle:

I actually don’t give two craps about a taco. However, Toyota as a whole over the years been like a good old friend to me

There are many, many car/truck buyers that will buy perceived reliability above all else. Toyota has earned that reputation, I suppose, and they benefit from not having to sell the best looking, best equipped, or best performing vehicle compared to the competition. Sometimes they do, but often they do not.

Early 90,s I had the little 4wd ( toy) Toyota pickup, this was my third one after years of everglades mud…
I went to a bar one night and a guy asked for a ride to his house to pickup a bottle (we were a dry county then) and I took 2 of the biggest fattest guys with me ,all in the front bench seat crammed in. It was a 2.5 four cylinder in which I perfected the art of Bangshifting. One guy said let’s see ya do it! So I left his driveway took off in low range 2wd. Took off in first and banged 2nd….I guess because of the weight transfer the little truck did a 2nd gear wheelie. They all said (including me) MotherF#@&$*r !
end of story :)

I think a lot of people are going to like the front end on that Tundra, it looks like an industrial age art deco design.

So now the official release pics are out there and I've changed my mind.

It doesn't look so much like a Cylon.

It looks more like Optimus Prime with the side gills.

And Toyota has apparently come to grips with the fact that a boxed frame is stronger than a C-channel frame

Those upgraded suspension components are attached to a frame that’s now fully boxed. Just last year, Toyota was still touting the merits of its so-called TripleTech frame, which used fully boxed rails at the front, a reinforced C-channel under the truck’s cab and an open C-channel “beneath the bed for strength, ride quality, and durability.”
