I use my Ranger for work so I'm in & out of the bed multiple times a day. Of course that's why a damper comes in handy for me. When my hands are full I can grab the latch with one finger and watch the tailgate lower nice and slow. ?

nice and slow so you can try to reverse the degradation of muscle and connective tissue the damper has eroded????

Whenever I am mowing or cutting down trees, I use the tailgate to refuel the weedeater or the chainsaw and when sharpening the chain

When I had the Ranger it really depended on what was going on. Most of the time I wasnt using it for anything besides a daily driver. From time to time I did put a trailer on or fill the bed with different things depending on what was happening. Good thing for not having a 3/4 ton or bigger Diesel truck!!

Agee with Frenchy, may not use it for a week then use it many times in a couple hours. Really depends on what I'm up to.

Yeah, true, very seasonal for me as well... in summer I have my kayak in and out of it weekly, during the winter it's just filled with sand bags.
