I'm experimenting with my fuel economy...
Im returning my Ranger to it's stock tune.
3 reasons:
First - I would like to feel the difference between my tuned Ranger vs. the Factory tune with all the bolt on parts.
Second - I want to see if it sounds different.
Third - I want to drive it for a week and see it it gets better than 11.6 mpg avg.

Praying this doesn't come back to bite me somehow.

Something is clearly amiss with only 11.6 mpg. I hope this experiment shows you what it is so you can address it.

Were you definitely getting better MPG before the tune? My MPG didn't change much if any.

I went two weeks without my tune after taking it in for "The Works". Wanted to see how the transmission was shifting without the tune. Probably not good.

Couldn't stand it so put the tune back on.

That being said I get much better mileage than you are. 19-20 around town and up to 24 hwy. I have a HEAVY foot and am hard braker.

Not sure if you checked them, or how long your NGK's have been in but the spark plugs could be a culprit. If they are fouled you could see a loss of 30% in fuel economy without codes.

If you have a short commute to work, it may not get hot enough to burn off the carbon, especially running one step colder plugs.

I'm no authority, but judging from your profile pic I'd say your tires have the most to do with your poor fuel economy. I noticed a difference going from OEM all seasons to OEM sized Duratracs, I can only imagine the beasts you've got.

I'm a lot heavier and I can get 18-20, with a light foot.

I'm not sure what time you have, but depending on the parts you have it may be best to stay tuned. That said your foot has a lot to do with the results
That last sentence gets me 23-25 mpg all the time every time.
Little lower in the winter, better in the summer.

even hauling a load I am between 18 and 20 mpg I am not easy on the pedal either when not loaded
and 18 is about the lowest I have seen in the last 2 years too, depending on the gas and interstate speeds I have seen 22 to 25
No Tune no bolt ons other than looks related ....
