Hi-lift Jack points ?

I've noticed other people putting hi-lift Jack's on they're trucks and while I know they have multiple uses, first it's a jack right?
How are people jacking up they're 2019 rangers without tearing up the paint? What are the best hi-lift jack points?

depends on the accessories you have for it and how you have your truck setup. rock sliders, steel bumpers work great. the accessories include a wheel attachment and bumper attachment.

Just for clarity.. "aftermarket" steel bumpers. The stock steel bumpers will fold up like a cheap lawn chair.

my bumpers are stock ATM and I would use the D-rings on the front bumper or the tow hitch w/ a shackle on the rear. there is a bumper accessory too.

Neither of the jack points you mentioned are "the bumper":

• The D-rings don't attach to the bumper, they attach to the frame.
• The rear hitch doesn't attach to the bumper, it attaches to the frame.

Use that bumper accessory on a Ranger and you'll damage the bumper. Ford even states that themselves.

I wonder if that's another copy and paste error from the Australian manual, since the Australian rangers actually do have bumper covers and AFAIK ours don't. (Not saying you wouldn't screw up the paint.)

I suppose that's possible.

From the looks of the hook and chain arrangement, looks dicey to me.

Since I installed my own Tow Package on the rear, I saw how the skin is just a dress up piece that bolts to the framework of the bumper mount. I would not lift the truck with the pieces that look like a bumper as those are only for looks. Use the tow hooks up front or the tow receiver in the rear.

Are after market D-rings necessary for best use of the hi-lift jack ?

I have the wheel adapter and can also use my frame mounted rock sliders.

A High-Lift is a jack, first and foremost.
Most people have them on their trucks as a fashion accessory.

I need to jack up the Ranger for the 1st time. My manual displays the following lift points shown below which evidently are proper for the on board vehicle jack to change a tire, but not sure if that also applies to lift points for a Floor Jack.

That being said, what are the safest lift points for my floor jack and the safest points for my Jack stands on the 5g? As a starter, I will be jacking up only the rear to begin with and later the whole truck as needed.

It depends. Why are you using a floor jack? To change a tire?

You'll find that jacking the truck up as shown in the diagram you've shown, using the rear axle tubes, will only take a very minimal amount of vertical jack movement to lift the rear tires off the ground.

However, the front jack points shown are on the frame. It will take considerable vertical jack movement to get the front tire(s) off the ground.

This is so true. Look at all the mall crawlers with 24” wheels with brand new high lifts on their racks.

I carry a floor jack, would use that first

If i can't use that, then I have the high-lift and my rock sliders
