Add it all up - smokin hot deal, no more ca high gas cost, reduction in maintenance and fun to drive, I'd be esthetic as well and nice that you shared this with the " community" which includes some degree of anti ev sentiment, stuff like getting stranded, grid collapse, wrecking the environment, raging highway batt fire, Yada, Yada, yada
Just mount a generator in the bed. Problem solved and best of both worlds.

Hindsight is 50/50 but wouldn't it been wiser to have avoided the Chevy Chevette altogether ? didn't they offer a diesel in it ? I remember working in Denver near i-70 and Kipling and the company hired a new program mgr who just happened to drive a Chevy Chevette and lived in Colorado Springs - some 80 miles away, he was planning to commute, did so for a couple of months until Chevy Chevette took on Monument Hill in a snowstorm and his Chevy Chevette commuter days came to an unhappy end pinned against a guard rail by a semi.
Was that the semis fault or the Chevy.
I actually liked the car. But it had many mechanical and structural breakages and all parts bought were reinforced at the failure point.
I drove this during some real heavy snow winters in Juneau Alaska and it did better than my full size American cars.

We travel a lot. FL-TX-CT, and the thing that wouldn’t work for us with driving a Lightening EV is the range distance and recharge time. The top of the line Ford Lightning Platinum ($92k) is rated at having a driving range of 300 miles, but real world driving shows results of only about 225 miles. Towing a trailer drops it significantly more, I think I read around 100 miles. That’s an hour to hour and a half if towing, or a bit over 3 hours of driving time if not towing before we would have to stop for 30-60 minutes to recharge.Traveling the distances that we do, this would add a significant amount of travel time. Until they can improve both range and recharge times, the RV is not for us.

Been avoiding the first model year of everything since the Chevy Chevette.

From Car and Driver, 0 to 60 15 secs , 81 mph top speed. Different era, but the Chevette certainly didn't distinguish itself but the base model was affordable. I had a datsun 210 wagon that at least was a 5spd manual and a 2bbl carb. was rated at 43 mpg highway.

I don't know any of the specs and don't even remember the year model, but in 1979 I traded a 1974 Olds Cutlass Salon for a Datsun B210 hatchback. Truly a shitbox in every way imaginable except for fuel mileage. Certainly one of the biggest mistakes I've ever made.

Back in the early 80's, a friend of mine's Mom had a V6 manual transmission Chevette. That thing would piss of a lot of motorheads at a stoplight drag race.

Back in high school was working at our small Conoco station. The boss told me to head out to Gaylord Peterson's farm n get his Olds 442. Needed an oil change. That car was a powerhouse. Took me 10 mins to drive out there and 30 minutes back to the station. Had to take the long way back! Lol
