Congrats. Beautiful truck.

Personally, every Nissan around here (south Florida) has horrendous paint issues... Every single one.

I considered looking at the new Frontier but quickly backed off for that reason. I truly hope they resolved that issue.

Good luck and enjoy!!

Honestly, because I really liked the new styling and interior.
Additionally, I got tired of the Ranger not learning what gear it needed to be in at low speeds, then sputtering/lugging until you either floored it or downshifted manually. Lock 8-9-10 out, and you're good around the city. Highway maybe 9th.
Also, who knows where the fuel in oil dilution issue is going to be years and thousands of miles down the road.
Those are the two main things.
Ranger did have nice ride quality, and descent mpg. Never was a fan of the big bezel around the touchscreen. Seats in the Ranger were comfortable.

The Frontier's 3.8 V6 with the 9 speed doesn't do all that gear hunting and lugging. Seems to always be in the right gear.

So, far, 200 miles, getting about 26mpg. A far cry from what the previous 4.0L V6 in the prev gen Frontier could produce.

That's about it for now.
Well after 2-1/2 years when can I expect any imperfection to start to show up on my Ranger 10SPD.
Never a drop of dilution so I know where that's going...nowhere!
'bout it for now
I would say " let's compare again in 10 years".....
but your Datsun will be long gone and I'll still be driving my Ranger( provided I live as long as it does.)

I would hate to trade for a less capable (payload and towing) truck then what I had.

You WILL have gripes and imperfections arise that won’t be any worse, better, or less annoying, then the Ranger.
That might be a consideration for a lot of people, but for someone who rarely tows it would not be an issue. If I wanted tons of towing capacity, I'd have an F150 or a Titan!

Did they improve the turning radius?

Both of the Frontiers I owned had a turning radius like an aircraft carrier.

This and the MPG (my 2011 actually got decent MPG. My 2018 Pro4X got miserable MPG) were my main gripes with them

You don't really notice it much until you're either in a tight parking area or off-road at a tight turn.

Edit: And does it have a driver side grab handle?
Turn radius is "SLIGHTLY" improved but not by a big margin. And turning/steering is a bit tight since it has hydraulic setting instead of electric power assisted.

I know seriously. You have to be brain dead to carshop and buy right now. Absolutely brain dead.
Incentives suck, for sure. I haven't seen a frontier anywhere for less than MSRP. Most have a "regional market adjustment" of anywhere from 1000 to 5000 over MSRP, and people who want one (pro-x or Pro-4x) are paying that without complaining. Depends on how much you want one. I got $500 off mine that's it.....But they I didn't lose my ass on my trade-in.

At least it wasn't a Taco, the Frontier is a better choice.
I Turd Taco has NEVER been a consideration, period. Two family members had them, traded then. One has a F150, other has a Titan.

Not bad since I drove it off the lot. Lord, they didn't do a good "cleanup". LOL
Nice mpg, and crappy detailing for sure. Thanks for sharing all this with us.

Nice truck, good luck with it, cheers?.
But I'm not sure what you mean by hunting? I find the 10 spd just fine.
Yes it lugs sometimes but sport mode will et rid of that.
