read pg 159 and 160 of the manual, as it is slightly more complicated than hitting + or - on the Transmission selector lever. Driving in Sport vs Drive has a different effect.on transmission logic. This is new to me too. I've only had my truck a little over a week and I haven't discovered that feature yet either.
If there is one thing on the Ranger the sales folks don't understand, it is this. I must have heard 10 different explanations from 10 different people that were all partially correct in a different way.Just remember when you're in S mode and hit the + it will turn it into manual mode. You now have to keep hitting the +/- to shift or it will redline. Ask me how I know? If you don't touch the +/- in S mode it will automatically shift.

Now I'm going up a steep onramp like a bat out of hell in 2nd gear waiting for it to shift and approaching red line. lol I just bumped it back up into D and once home came on here and searched and found out you now have to keep pressing the +.If there is one thing on the Ranger the sales folks don't understand, it is this. I may have been able having been accused of having a photographic memory....but not now...I simply could not do this. The complexity is overwhelming.
Best,
Phil
