Buying a Mustang with a 2.3 should be a crime

Maybe not if gas hits $7. I just can't afford a 5.0 now so I'm mustangless.Buying a Mustang with a 2.3 should be a crime
And why is that?Buying a Mustang with a 2.3 should be a crime
IMO an iconic American muscle car should have a V8 minimum, not to mention the 5.0 is a second faster 0-60. Also, NOTHING beats the sound of a V8.And why is that?
The Ecoboost Mustang makes more power than every V8 ever put in a Mustang prior to 2005 with the exception of the 03/04 Cobras. It makes the same power as a 2005 to 2010 Mustang GT. Compared to the current S550 Mustang GT it handles better because it has 250 lbs less over the front wheels.
I’ll race any 5.0 out there ..Buying a Mustang with a 2.3 should be a crime
And you'd loseI’ll race any 5.0 out there ..![]()
My son in law's brother has 788 HP to the ground in 2019 supercharged 5.0. He can only run mid 11's because he can't get a solid hook. My 97 cobra had a whopping 305 HP before I installed the Kenne Bell blower, less than my tuned ranger 2.3. The current coyote sounds and runs great but it's out of my price range since I retired an with $4 gas it's totally impractical. I'm old enough to remember 130-140 HP V8 engines when they first brought them back to the mustang an camaro. Life is good.I’ll race any 5.0 out there ..![]()
Thank you for sharing that service department write-up. I have tested the resting fuel rail pressure myself and it was holding at 70psi on mine. Sounds like that is the expected range.Getting back on topic, my oil was drained and measured at 28k miles. 7qts were again measured and oil was diluted by the fuel. Oil smelt of fuel and was thin. Below is pic of what was done by tech. High pressure fuel pump was replaced.
Those who have their records from repair attempts, please pm as the dealership's service manger would like to see what other techs have attempted to replace to resolve issue. I have yet not sent out sample to blackstone for analysis. I do not believe replacing the high pressure fuel pump will resolve my issue.![]()
Thanks,
Joe
Dunno..it’s pretty quick !And you'd lose![]()

And the 5.0 Mustang would get smoked by a ZL1 Camaro, Corvette, Hellcat Charger or Challenger, not to mention a GT350 or GT500. The 5.0 can't even top the Mustang Mach E GT to 60.Brother, you’d get smoked. Plain and simple lol.. I don’t even own a Mustang so I’m not trying to brag. I just know my muscle cars.
