Im not.Is anyone using the 44K fuel additive that the dealer recommends?
Don't even know what said fuel additive is. If it's just a fuel system cleaner, it will have limited affect on our direct fuel injection engines.
It's a product from BG. Many auto shops across the country use it some of it works well for different uses. That said it is very pricey.Nope, never heard of it. Did they say how it would help?
I’m probably way into overkill with regards to maintaining my Ranger but 50+ years in maintenance on anything from 650 psi 860 degree superheated steam ship propulsion equipment to 2400 mW nuclear reactors and 7000 HP pumps has taught me that maintenance is good “BUT” that machines can also be over maintained as well, if that makes any sense.Im not.
Kinda what I thought.Don't even know what said fuel additive is. If it's just a fuel system cleaner, it will have limited affect on our direct fuel injection engines.

What is walnut blast? If it contains PEA, by all means, go ahead and use it. I typically use Techron or Redline SL-1 since I know both of those contain PEA.
That and plan for a walnut blast around 100K.
What is walnut blast?
I’m at 148,000 already.
Honest assessment right here. I am sure a good fuel additive does what it is supposed to. But it cannot clean intake valves on a GDI engine.I’m probably way into overkill with regards to maintaining my Ranger but 50+ years in maintenance on anything from 650 psi 860 degree superheated steam ship propulsion equipment to 2400 mW nuclear reactors and 7000 HP pumps has taught me that maintenance is good “BUT” that machines can also be over maintained as well, if that makes any sense.
Anyway, I have them change engine oil every 5000 miles and have done every single service Ford recommends to this point. One of those was fuel system flush and addition of the 44K in addition to the flush. I said ok to adding it but not sure if it really helps or not or if they’re just draining my wallet a little more. I’m hesitant to use anything in the newer engines fuel systems so not sure if I will continue using it or not.
