Don't even know what said fuel additive is. If it's just a fuel system cleaner, it will have limited affect on our direct fuel injection engines.

I have used it before and I can say that it can be effective, but it's not an "End All Be All" type thing. You simply put it in the fuel tank with a full tank of gas and drive it. Personally I use Berrymans B12 and I use it every oil change.

Just keep in mind that it will not help with the intake valve carbon buidup. To address that you will need to perform an intake service.

Nope, never heard of it. Did they say how it would help?
It's a product from BG. Many auto shops across the country use it some of it works well for different uses. That said it is very pricey.

If it contains PEA, by all means, go ahead and use it. I typically use Techron or Redline SL-1 since I know both of those contain PEA.

That and plan for a walnut blast around 100K.

I’m probably way into overkill with regards to maintaining my Ranger but 50+ years in maintenance on anything from 650 psi 860 degree superheated steam ship propulsion equipment to 2400 mW nuclear reactors and 7000 HP pumps has taught me that maintenance is good “BUT” that machines can also be over maintained as well, if that makes any sense.

Anyway, I have them change engine oil every 5000 miles and have done every single service Ford recommends to this point. One of those was fuel system flush and addition of the 44K in addition to the flush. I said ok to adding it but not sure if it really helps or not or if they’re just draining my wallet a little more. I’m hesitant to use anything in the newer engines fuel systems so not sure if I will continue using it or not.

Not sure why you would need to flush the fuel system, but an injector cleaner containing PEA will keep the injectors working properly, that's really all you can do.

What is walnut blast?
I’m at 148,000 already.

If it is still running fine, there's no real reason to crack into it, but eventually most all GDI only engines will need it.

Honest assessment right here. I am sure a good fuel additive does what it is supposed to. But it cannot clean intake valves on a GDI engine.

I do believe that the BG stuff does contain PEA, but as memory serves, it is stupid expensive compared to the alternates.

One run of Techron just before your oil change is plenty.
