Hang in there you will get it. Worst thing about forscan is changing something, then trying to change back and not remembering what is was or saving it. Theres a tool online to find it though.

Im sure its possible to brick a module it but thats very rare, and that module was probly doomed to fail eventually anyway. IMO. So I wouldnt worry too much.
Yeah...I'm not too worried. There is a way to use your VIN to get that as built for your vehicle. I'm more worried/scared of my wife and how mad she will be...lol. I can hear it now..."What do you mean..Uh Oh???"

I searched this whole thread for info on disabling the location sharing prompt (see this thread for what I mean: https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/location-and-vehicle-data-sharing-enabled-message.9095/), and also searched the FORScan Crowdsourced Wiki post but didnt find anything. Has anyone found out how to disable this notification using FORScan?
I think that is an Android Auto issue in the head unit. I don't think forscan will fix that.
I get it as well but not every time I connect

I made my first change today, disabled the double honk after exiting the cab with the engine running. After that I noticed that the chime for the parking sensor (and maybe other things) seems to have changed, it sounds like its coming from the instrument cluster or maybe the driver tweeter. I think I recall reading something about being able to change the chime location, but I only made the one change to the double honk and didnt touch any chime settings. Would anyone else familiar with making these kinds of changes know what's going on here?

So, I've recently changed my XLT instrument cluster to a Lariat one. It's a ridiculously easy swap to make as far as the hardware, but I'm wondering how to make my steering wheel controls to control the right hand side of the cluster. (My steering wheel controls on the right hand side are the ones with the music note in the middle and the vol up and down, etc...). Does anybody know if I can change those to control the right hand side of the instrument cluster with FORScan or is it a hardware issue (the plug itself)?

Thanks

E

Just my lame attempt at humor. From the movie "Ferris Bueller's Day Off". Really just trying to see if anybody had any advice on my original post about the Instrument Panel and the steering wheel buttons.

Thanks

Hi E,

Do not watch TV or movies...sorry way over my head. I do not delve into Forscan so of no help...
All my messing in the various modules back in the day were in HEX... Showing my age....Dec 1 2020 I have been retired for 18 years.

Hey Phil,

No worries. Congrats on the awesome career (what you've shared on the forum so far) and hopefully you can look forward to another 18 years of retired bliss.

Just an FYI for the "Corner light mode for fog lights" mod. It enables the light at 2 degree turn of the wheel. You can verify this with the Off Road display menu. Under this menu you can see the angle of the wheel.

It would be better if the fog light activated at 3-5 degrees.

Interesting, I haven't seen anyone post seeing NA signs like that! Wish I could get mine to do it. Does it flash at you if you go over your tolerance setting?
Setup it up this morning and I have the NA signs. Yes it does flash when you go over your tolerance setting. I have a 2020 XLT Sport with the 301A package.

Thanks, must be a 2020 MY thing to get the NA signs, looks cool though. Which I could get them on mine. Probably an IPC firmware update.

The other day when I renewed my Forscan license I noticed they have a new version out in beta that can flash module firmware. Not for the faint of heart. Lock of warnings about bricking modules. Think I'll wait.
