I find it a lame and annoying prompt, I have paired my device (cell phone) but take a deep breath as this is the truth, I often choose not to bring my cell phone along for the ride and I get that lame and annoying message.

I used to get this message when I first got the truck and paired my phone. But now I do not get it anymore. I have no idea what I did.

It seems only to happen when I pair my phone via the cable to the truck, it is already paired via BT when I start the truck. It wouldn't be so annoying if it came up soon after, but it seems like it is random. Sometimes it pops up by the time I leave my driveway and other times it is 15 minutes down the road and the prompt pops up and you cannot do anything with the radio until you tap the OK button.

I get this without fail if my phone doesn't connect to the truck, such as when I have the phone's Bluetooth disabled, or I forget to grab my phone on the way out the door. I don't think I've ever gotten the message if I have my phone with me and Bluetooth on.

Seems like you need to turn off location sharing or the hot spot?

Also, I have yet to see this with 3.4 so far. Don't know if that is coincidental or not.

How did you upgrade to 3.4?
I did it with usb, just drop a google on it. There is/was a problem with loosing the climate controls in sync 3 which can be enabled with forscan. Don't know if ford fixed that yet. Unless you have forscan, I would wait.

This is due to how your vehicle communicates with Ford Pass. The catch is when you connect via usb for CarPlay, this service needs a bluetooth connection. CarPlay disables that bluetooth connection upon connection. Once that happens, the system throws this error.

There are 2 ways to get rid of this message permanently and both suck.

1. Don't use CarPlay (not sure about android auto) and allow your phone to connect via bluetooth when the truck starts.

2. Turn off the Ford Pass features which will disable Ford Pass remote start, lock/unlock, vehicle location etc.

Sync 3.4 does not fix this message. I get it every single day. It goes away on its own after about 5 seconds so I just ignore it now.
