Looks like the F150, Ranger and Maverick will have a new trim option called the “Rattler”. It’s supposed to be an “entry level” off road package that is somewhere between the standard 4x4 and the FX4 package. Priced less than the FX4. It’s supposed to include a rear locker, trail control and hill descent control. What do you all think?

Honestly I wish Ford would just concentrate on building the lineup they have now. Why keep introducing new builds when they can't even get parts for the ones they're building now? If this were 3 years ago I'd say great, but now...?

Margin. No other reason. Slap a vinyl sticker and some bolt-on's and mark it up 300%.

whos naming these things lol. tremors rattlers whats next Parkinson edition, the vibrator package? might sell well with the lonely girls i guess. ford annoys me with all the sticker packages. they need to offer an xl with all the fx4 goodies and a front locker on 35s and call it the ranger fx4.
no animal or creature names
no editions.
id sell both my rangers for one lol

I think the intent is to try and artificially create more options without having to deviate from existing supply chain. It is easier to make a bunch of pointless and slightly different trim levels to make buyers feel like they have options. They don't have to worry about overarching supply chain/chip shortage since the options are mostly cosmetic or borrow functionality/parts from other trim or vehicles.
