I own a 2021 Ford Ranger XLT. I have just over 30,000 miles on the odometer so I am closing in on the 3 year/36,000 mile warranty. I do have the "Lifetime" Power Train warranty that the dealership offered, which includes seals and gaskets. Anyone here purchase the Ford extended warranty? I've been receiving email and regular mail with information, but no prices. My guess is it will run about $3,000 plus a deductible. What are your thoughts . . . I realize that "stuff" happens and nothing is perfect. Am I good-to-go with the Lifetime Power Train warranty or should I upgrade? Because of the warranty, I've been having my vehicle serviced at the Ford dealership and I'm following recommended services so that Ford cannot find a way to void my warranty.

Thank You in advance for any help/advice!

I went through the dealer cause it was whatever.
$1,500 or so (I'd have to check the paperwork), 8yr 80,000mile or something like that.

Wasn't terrible so I let them tack that onto the signing.

It depends on how much you trust the other 1000 things the warranty covers. I just got out of a land Rover before the electronics and ecu, trans ctlr and other items started kicking my butt. When I bought the ranger I added the 100k coverage figuring the per.mile.cost in both dollars and sanity was worth it to me. But I'm older and have no desire to sit on the side of the road waiting for a buddy to pull me home. Or, laying on my back fixing some piece of broken gear.

I just signed up for 6 years/80,000 km. Peace of mind purchase. Dealers here had several options to choose from - didn’t break the bank.

Here’s a couple of places you can price out the options. Lots of us have bought Ford warranties from these sellers. It‘s likely a lot less than you think. But, like any insurance, only you can decide if it’s worth it.

I agree with Joe. Stay away from all of those "mail offers" as they are more than likey a third party warranty. The cost is stupid high for a warranty, and you have to give them a kidney for them to pay off. I went with Granger for the $50 over cost. It was smooth, and easy. Remember, an extended warranty for you will cost a bit more since you waited. But, it's not that bad.

I did the extended warranty at signing for peace of mind. So far the dealer has been such a shit show and always scheduling months out every time I’ve had an issue with my truck I’ve fixed it myself out of pocket. The way I see it is that the warranty is only worth it for catastrophic failures and expensive electrical issues that require the dealer scan tools.

YES, 3rd party ESP are stupid expensive. For my mom's Volvo with 60K miles, they wanted $250 a month for the warranty. Wasn't even a set price. Just pay $250 per month in case something goes wrong, then pay $500 deductible. More of an insurance policy rather than an extended warranty.

I bought mine thru Granger, 8yr 125K miles, $50 deductible. I am not worried much about drive train as much as I worried about electronics.

Is this https://www.floodfordesp.com an official Ford Warranty provider? No third party? With the supply issues and pricing increase an extended warranty may actually be a good piece of mind to have. Will also have to look into possibly adding one to the truck,

Any one use this site and service in put would be appreciated.

Yes, it is and so is Granger. These are genuine Ford plans that can be used at all Ford service shops.
Granger sells the plans for $50 above cost.
I bought my thru Granger. $1635 for 8yr 125K premium Care.

Don't think either of them work for a '19 from what I have seen. Hope I'm wrong but I looked at both those sites and '19's are too old regardless of mileage.

Granger was least expensive when I looked. Easy to deal with and showed up in FordPass a day or two later.

IIRC, you have to get the ESP before the OEM warranty runs out.

I grew up with V8’s, manual transmissions, and working on cars, but turbos and finicky electronics made me nervous. I bought the Ford extended warranty through Grainger instead of the Allstate warranty through the local dealer.
