Hey all,
Looking to extend my warranty and wondering if anyone had any insight good/bad on Fords offerings? I am primarily concerned with the powertrain/transmission so likely would just try and cover those components. Any insight would be appreciated (which one you bought, other providers, etc.) Thanks!

If you ask.me I would recommend the Ford ESP Extended Warranty over any other Warranty company for your Ford Ranger. Why you ask? Well for starters it is backed by Ford. Even though it is a third party company, they won't give you as much run around vs other third party companies.

If I had a brand new Nissan I would go with the Nissan Security Plus Extended Warranty.

If it was a brand new Toyota I would probably find a way to burn the thing and get money back.

If it was a Rolls Royce then I would have so much money that I didn't really give a damn

When I bought my ranger (coming up on a year ownership!) I bought through the dealer an extended warranty plan that changes the 3 year 36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty to match the drivetrain warranty.
It also includes the wheels for the same time frame.
I’m getting a lot of emails from scammers claiming to be from my dealership who tell me my warranty is about to expire “so call now!” ?

Granger for me. I was more worried about bad electronics (the head unit controls ac, reverse cam, etc and it costs more than the plan to replace) so I got the everything plan. Great price and easy to deal with.

My dealer sold me an ESP thru a 3rd party, 6yr 100K, for $2200.
I cancelled that and got my ESP from Granger when the truck was new.
8yr 125K bumper to bumper -$1635, with $200 deductible.

But your truck is now 3 years old, it's going to cost you a bit more.
But Granger is the place to go, they will beat everyone else on price.

I haven't used mine yet, but I went with the Ford Protect 100,000 mile warranty. I did this about 23 months and 28,000 miles into ownership. I went with the Premium Care option because it covers everything the factory warranty covers and with a $100 deductible it was right around $2800. I didn't get quotes on the Powertrain Option but going down to the Extra Care level didn't drop more than a couple hundred dollars and the Lariat lighting will easily cover that difference if it fails. I also liked that they prorate this back to me if I cancel before the 100,000 miles.

I would also be interested to hear if anyone has had good/bad experiences when trying to use this warranty as I had a really bad experience in the past with a 3rd party warranty.

I've used Flood Ford ESP for years, their prices have always beat out the other companies including Granger Ford. For some reason, dealerships always get quite upset when I refuse to buy their overly inflated ESP contracts unless they're willing to price match Flood Ford's prices. My 2023 Ranger ESP is PremiumCARE, $0 Deductible, 10 years, 100,000 miles, First Day Rental, Lighting Option (price out some of those FoMoCo LEDs, definitely not inexpensive) and Key Services (again those eKeys are more than a little pricey). The warranty ended up costing me around $2500 before they processed the ESP from my old F150, I was pleasantly surprised how much the refund was. I did touch base with Granger Ford again first, but they were about $300 more than Flood Ford for the same package. The closer at the dealership I bought from kept trying to convince me that Flood and Granger's ESPs aren't legitimate and that Ford was going to crack down on them, I just politely smiled.
