I’d like to hear opinions from those running the Ford Performance Tune. What do you like and what do you not like? Have you had issues? Have you played with a dyno?

I ordered mine through Levittown and installed it myself. Been running it for about 2 weeks now. So far, I like it. It’s definitely not over the top and combined with the aFe hot-n-cold pipes, Roush intake, and MBRP catback the truck is, without a doubt, a different little animal.

I don’t use the Ranger for work and there’s no towing or heavy off-roading. She’s my daily driver and my fun machine.

I went back and forth with options and am ultimately happy with my choice.

I’d love to know what other’s experiences have been.

Appreciate the comments. I am considering this tune when it becomes available for the 2021, not necessarily for the added power, but for the improved throttle response overall drivability that many report.

Off topic but I must ask since you.do live in dusty Texas. What do the inside of the intake pipes look like with the Roush intake? I'm hoping there is no signs of dirt and dust.

I have heard that Ford will be updating the tune in the next upcoming weeks (will be a free update if you already own one) and i've heard it will be a towing tune. I have also heard back on forth on whether the FP tune is made by Livernois or not and well... I saw this when downloading the software to my computer. I will be installing my tune tomorrow and will update on what I think of it. Glad to hear that you like it ??

Did installing the aFe hot-n-cold pipes, Roush intake, and MBRP catback require a tune or put engine lights or codes on the dash, without the tune??

Doesn't installing it yourself void the warranty?

I thought the biggest advantage of the Ford Performance Tune over others is that it included a 3/36 warranty, but only when installed by a dealer.

Nope, not tune till just 2 weeks ago. I had the other hardware on for over a yea 1st. Nice gains in looks, sound and feel overall. I've never put her on a dyno but in my head and heart she sounded good and worked more efficiently. All in all the tune really woke the truck up. A+

I do 99% of my own modding and maintenance and I'm close enough to the 36k cutoff anyway. Anyone with plenty of warranty left probably should let the stealership or a certified mechanic install it. It is super easy but protect what's yours!

I’ve noticed that my traction control isn’t working or rather that I can’t turn it on or off from my tune. Has anyone else experienced this? Mine is a livernois but seeing as how it’s essentially the same thing I was curious if that’s just part of it or if I have to reach out to Livernois themselves.

I have zero complaints about throttle response with the stock truck, it's encouraging to hear that if anything the FP tune is as good or better than stock....and doesn't make it twitchy or snappy when adding that much power.

It looks like Ford has changed the software for this tune. I just plugged mine into the computer and it will no longer access the previous app. And wants me to download as shown above.

I would also say based on this the Ford tune is some kind of Livernois tune?:
