interesting how many varied opinions there are on noise with the Nitto Ridge Grapplers..
I put a set of them on at 19,000 miles - and they're LT's for their tough sidewall/carcass in the desert offroad we explore in.
My FX4 XLT now has 38,000 miles and they have been excellent. Not noisy at...
your experience mimics my own..... my FX4 XLT just turned 37,000 miles and is exactly two years old - I take it on a lot of road trips, take it desert wheeling, and it's been 100% rock solid.
I have the dealership do the oil & filter at 5k miles, and rotate the tires. I'm sure they're filling...
it happens all the time when a much sought after model hits the market, and can't be had for whatever reasons... not so much greed as opportunism.
When I bought my C7 Corvette, there were hangups from GM's carbon fiber supplier, so many parts (hoods, tops) were 'constraints' and lots of orders...
We just moved here about 11 months ago after 20+ yrs in Denver. So far I've had very good luck with the local Ford dealership here.
I bought my Ranger at Brighton Ford, on Black Friday 2019 (for $10k off of it's $36k msrp).
Most dealerships will replace a transmission, they're not really set up for transmission repairs - that was my experience with a 5 spd auto on a Jeep Commander.
I'm at 24k on my Ranger in 16 months of ownership, no issues whatsover - but since I like this truck a lot I may get an extended...
I run premium in all the turbo cars I've owned - A3, Civic Si, TourX, and this Ranger - but 93 isn't commonly available in CO or NM... 91 is premium octane here.
Is 93 a requirement for the Ford Performance tune, or just the premium grade that exists in your market?
I have zero complaints about throttle response with the stock truck, it's encouraging to hear that if anything the FP tune is as good or better than stock....and doesn't make it twitchy or snappy when adding that much power.
I went with the Nitto Ridge Grapplers (LT265/70R17, 10 ply) for the tougher carcass, we do a lot of sharp rocky wheeling in the desert. They are quiet on the hwy, the truck doesn't feel 'sluggish' in any way and my mileage hasn't suffered - I'm thrilled with these tires.
My speedometer reads a...
The thought of cutting a sidewall in the sharp desert rocks is what prompted the change to a different tire. The Hankooks work really well, zero complaints - but a taller and tougher sidewall was the goal.
Are the FX4 suspension takeoffs (19k miles) something that there are people using on...
I have a set of the Fox 2.0 coilovers & shocks arriving tomorrow, and after a lot of looking around, I decided on the Nitto Ridge Grapplers in 265/70R17 with the coilovers set to 2" of lift.
The truck (FX4 XLT) does great as it is offroad, but I got a little bored and we've been doing enough...
I had the dealer in CO do the break-in oil change, a couple months ago we moved to southern NM and I had it done at the recommended interval at a dealer here....
In the hot summer months driving it around town I'll do it more often, otherwise at recommended intervals.
nice - finally, I get to see a black Ranger with a 6' bed and a shell....and an A.R.E. at that.
Mine should be here next week.
What is the finish on the front sides? Looks like home-applied Rhino liner?
I got a good quote on an A.R.E. CX Classic, but after looking at all the differences between the models (and brands) - which were pretty minor and mostly style related - it was suggested that I look at the V Series too, since I wasn't looking at many options.
The charcoal headliner was free...
it's crazy that I was looking at my new Ranger the other day and thinking 'wtf is this?' with the loose ignition key receptacle....and I get on Ranger5G and see it's 'a thing', and one with a solution.
ordered mine on ebay just minutes ago
