I just updated to the new Performance software, I did not go back to stock and then to the new software.
I wish there were detailed steps as I’m not sure if you need to reset anything to trigger the relearn

Do you know the version of the file. File name
I did not have to “reset” anything. Once you have the new file connect it to the truck and select the performance tune just like the first time.

Strange, we have the same pro cal version and software version my perf Cal bin file is named entirely different. FPP rep replied back but did not back up his findings with a version number. I will try calling again before I upgrade it. Ill update the thread with my findings.

I think the AAP.bin is the new file.

So I updated my ProCal desktop app as prompted and when I plugged my ProCal 4 unit in, it won't connect due to some Windows error. Any ideas?

The desktop app may have updated the driver for the ProCal 4 unit, but didn't prompt you for a reboot. Also, I remember mine triggering a .NET update after I installed the desktop app update. You might need to check for a .NET update or reboot so that .NET finishes installing. Windows :explode:

I had two updates recently, and on the first one, Windows Defender said it was a virus.
Disabled Defender and tried again.
Then, several days later, another update came along, and this one went right through.
You might try uninstalling the app and download the newest version?

I hear there are some cool new tuning options in the update, including being able to adjust for both tire size and gear ratio.

And this is the reason I haven't tuned yet.

I'm on a Mac and I really don't want to buy a PC just for this.

What I probably need is a second car, so I can justify the expense...
To the extent you care about this sort of thing, the Tune needs to be installed by dealer or ASE cert'd tech or you void the warranty. So you don't have to buy a PC unless you’re really dedicated to installing yourself.

Thanks man.

I'm more interested in the Livernois version, so the warranty is a non-issue. I'm simply sniveling about PCs

I'll have to suck it up, one of these days...

Do you know anyone with a PC that could let you use it just for this? I had a friend with one and just used his. Even though you can buy a cheap PC now I didn't want to spend more than I had to, plus I'm cheap frugal too. ?

Those adjustments have always been in the ProCal 4 for the Ford Ranger.

Actually the Pro Cal 4 programmer does quite a few things that are not even advertised by Ford or Ford Performance.
I am interested in getting a tune, but would like to find out what companies offer tunes; their price; their advantage over another brand. Any input would be appreciated.
