I don't understand why people would use/buy subscription for nav when it's free on apps...I run Waze and Googlemaps on the same screen the factory nav uses...

I noticed this when looking to update Sync... That 3rd party tool that does sync updates may be able to help you. (i can't think of the name but found it here)

Pray Ford doesn't go GM's route...

GM is looking to drop Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.... so they can lock you into their app store and charge you subscriptions.

So, they can kill syncing with your phone's app's music player and everything else useful?! That'll go over like a lead balloon...it'll be a suicide move unless they're able to conspire with the other truck makers...

From what I read - it will be implemented by 2028 across all GM Lines and of course you can still get the GM version of the function for a subscription fee.

Sounds like you have no sense of adventure
Nope. I almost totaled my '12 Focus because I took a curve too fast on a paved road. Bounced off the embankment and slammed hard back down on the pavement. Broke all the motor mounts. Mucho damage. Broken rib. I ain't doing that shit again.

So what you're saying is that particular day all your sense of adventure went straight to your pants?

OK, someone fill me in. 2019, and I use navigation when I travel. Never an issue. What is this about paying for navigation subscription?

The subscription is if you want things like real time traffic data. The truck comes with (at least used to) 3-5 years of that kind of data - after that you have to pay to have it. I never really used it and didn't miss it when it disappeared.

To ONLY use navigation/directions, you don't have to pay a subscription. You only have to pay if you want to update the maps (and you can do that for free from Cyanlabs).

Thanks. I never use that part, so I don't miss at all. Updated map might come in handy, never got bad directions from the truck though.
