I gambled short and lost big! 40% of my rather sizable investment. I still have not recovered it.I saw the writing on the wall and pulled everything out in June of '08. Stuck it all in a money market account and road it out until early '09 and jumped back in and did great up until 18 months or so ago. I pulled it all back out again and have been sitting on the sidelines waiting now for the inevitable. I'm way to close to retiring now and no way am I going to lose it and start over. I'd rather have a few flat years and preserve my capital throw it all away to the wolves of Wall Street!
I test drove my daughter's Maverick and came to the same conclusion. Interior is cheap, and uncomfortable. I also prefer a more upright comfortable seating position. Sitting too low makes that hood look long and wide. The Maverick was a nice truck but I could never get the ergonomics of the interior to work for me...never comfortable. I hated the "Active X" upholstery. The mechanics and drivability were great. Inside not so much!
Interesting you should mention the hood. Exactly my experience. It was almost as if the hood rose up in the front, very weird.I test drove my daughter's Maverick and came to the same conclusion. I understand the tradeoff for aerodynamics and fuel efficiency, but I don't like it from an ergonomic perspective.
that's what people said after they fucked up the explorer rollout, before the bronco rollout...Sure hope they learned something.
Maybe third time is a charm? Or will it be three strikes and you 're out?that's what people said after they fucked up the explorer rollout, before the bronco rollout...
honestly, I haven't seen any signs that ford has become more nimble and competent in the last couple of yearsMaybe third time is a charm? Or will it be three strikes and you 're out?
Maverick explaining it to the Ranger:In the last 2 years the Maverick outsold the Ranger by just over 20%. Looks like part of the reason could be supply chain issues and the other bring the Ranger is going through a refresh this year and some wasn't the newer 6G. It also could be what I've said many times that their advertising (or lack there of) is much better for the Maverick . Then take into consideration the high price of gas we saw last year and the very low price point the base Maverick had when it first launched and this makes sense. Hopefully the next Gen Ranger sales improve because they're losing ground on most of the completion too.
