Tow package will include and have installed a combo 7 pin and 4 pin outlet for trailer plugs. Will have spring loaded covers and will be in the center of rear bumper. You can see it to the left of the tag....
Yes, it can be added aftermarket, but unless done by factory/dealer, the wireing usually won't look like it was professionally installed.

This is the factory hitch and bumper for the factory tow package. If your hitch and bumper don't look like this it's aftermarket.

Essential the "tow package" is just the hitch, the 7 pin connector, and the trailer brake harness. If you have an aftermarket hitch and 7 pin connector, with an XLT you should have the TBC harness, but you may not.

And it doesn't matter, because the tow package is nothing but the hitch and 7 pin connector. Tow limits don't change with tow package.

Wouldn't all USA Rangers have the tow/haul button near the shifter area? That would be what I check for.

They all have the tow/haul whether equipped with the tow package or not, so not an indication of tow package.

Please check what Grumpaw mentioned, guess they all have the tow/haul button. I have only been in Rangers with the tow package so did not know.

Yes the factory tow package has a slightly different center section on the bumper. This is because the receiver is mounted higher than the aftermarket hitches, so it is recessed up into the bumper. This is the big give-a-way that it is an OEM hitch and not aftermarket.

The bumper is slightly different. Take a look at the picture in post #3 of this thread: the receiver is slightly tucked up into the bumper, which maximizes ground clearance.

The bumper is the same, the trim is different.

If you have your VIN available, most dealers can run a build sheet from that. Will tell you all the factory items that were installed for your particular truck.
