Retired, work is a four letter word.
My brakes were terrible!, having most every type of car, truck, and Motorcycle in my 60 years of driving I have never had a new vehicle with these mushy brakes except a Semi with air over hydrophilic.(HydroVac) This procedure made a huge difference for me, pedal used to go 3/4 of the way to the floor before firming up, then at stops would slowly bleed down even more, causing the 'creep' others talk about. No longer, now the pedal stops at 1/4 > 1/2 and is solid without the creep, much better. I was worried as I will be towing the Ranger and my Invisobrake braking unit only has so much travel on the actuator, now will be fine.

I got up in my neighbor's 2021 Lariat with about 3k miles. His brakes felt fine. Not sure of build date or anything.

Yes, just ignore them and move on, unless you actually want to bleed them :)
Noticeable improvement. Firn pedal, the way it should be.

Panicked briefly (What have I done!) when the dash indicated a long list of errors on my next startup because I did this late in the day, and had to drive 250 miles in the morning. Figured out how to clear the codes and was all good.

you all do know that this is a way for Trevor to one day take remote control of our rangers and do some kind of stephen king Maximum Overdrive type thing
If I knew how to do all that I definitely wouldn’t be fixing cars for a living??

My 2021 w/1500 miles on it had mushy brakes. Might just be how they are assembled and maybe some dealers know how to check/fix it on PDIs?

Talked to my service writer today 5 Oct, about completing this and was told Ford has put out a SB with their "procedure" to evaluate and correct... Hoping she is wiling to try this fix should that one not gain the desired results...

Ran the abs purge procedure today, seemed to help a little bit pedal seems a little firmer now , I'm at 32k miles so I may need brakes soon and that could be part of it as well.
Been driving around for a few days after doing this and the pedal feel is much better, should have been this way from the plant. best part is no more forward creep sitting at a stop light. I feel more confident in my trucks braking abilities now ?

I did this the other day and drove about 100 miles after the procedure. At first, I wasn’t convinced it did much for my braking, but today I guess I realized that there was a subtle difference. The truck feels more solid when braking. I wouldn't say it was mushy, but it wasn’t solid either.
I don’t know if this was the same for everyone else, but the brake bleeding procedure did not show up on Forscan. I Had to update the program before I saw the option.

I did this today and do think the pedal feels better. I didn't notice the ABS reset under the bleed procedure at first and was freaking out a bit because the DTCs wouldn't clear. Reset the ABS module, was able to clear them and all was good.

I tried using Forscan today... I must be doing something wrong. I downloaded the latest version onto my laptop. Downloaded the drivers for the scanner that you plug in under the dash. Followed the directions in the video. When it read my vehicle, I only got a short list of modules before it said "ready" at the bottom of the screen. When it asked did I want to save I didn't even get to click "yes" and the screen flashed by. When I click on the "wrench", I only get a very short list and I don't see anything about ABS.

I'll try it again tomorrow. I've read through this thread twice and I still can't figure out what I'm doing wrong or missing. Yes, I did have the key in the ignition and in the start position (engine not running though).

I even took notes as I watched the video so I could list step by step what to do next.

This is the scanner I bought:
OBD2 scanner

I’m no pro at Forscan, but it sounds like you need to choose MS (or is it HS) on your scanner to unlock the rest of the modules. I think when you start the forscan program and create a profile, it gives you a prompt asking if you have HS on your scanner. I really hope someone else can answer this better… ??‍♂?

I made sure to get a scanner with the automatic MS/HS. I did answer yes when the question popped up.

OBDLink EX FORScan OBD Adapter https://www.amazon.com/dp/B081VQVD3...abc_ZTAQ9X6GEW0V4Y4D6YM1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

This is the adapter you need these days. You no longer have to switch between HS or MS, it loads everything.

Did you email them and get your free or extended license?
Yes, I got the extended license and pasted the "key" code into the program where needed.

This is the scanner I got that has the automatic switch: OBD2 scanner
I downloaded the drivers.
