I've been enjoying reading the forum and decided to give FORScan a try. So far so good!

In the ACM Module, does anyone know what the difference is between the Anti-Noise Control and Software Anti-Noise Control options?

I found a 10" HP Windows10 laptop on Amazon Renewed for something like $140 shipped. It now lives in my glove box.

I am not going to give a definitive answer but I thought I read either on here or the forscan forum that turns off the battery management and stops auto start stop for working but the light stays on, as you mentioned, but there was another option that turns off the light on dash from displaying which I assumed just did that but did not turn off auto start stop.

edit: I think this is actually what I was reading about

FCIM 7A7-01-01 xxxx x0xx xxxx (optional - disables switch)
Have y'all done any further study to see if BCM is still active and working?

Are you guys sure if you disable A/S/S it turns off battery management? I’m pretty sure I disabled A/S/S but battery management stayed on since it was another option all together and I didn’t mess with it.

One thing I did notice, is that after disabling mine, I don’t get the light on the dash either. I heard some people still got the light on the dash when the system would normally stop the engine if A/S/S was enabled

Any updates? Were you able to determine if the BCM is still functioning?

I don't know how to confirm this, BUT I don't think it is. My voltage has been at 14.1 every time the truck is running. I think if BMS was working, the voltage wouldn't be that high.

Ya'll are saying BCM which is Body Control Module. Are you meaning to say BMS Battery Management System?

Sorry to be picky but please use the correct 3-letter acronyms. BCM is Body Control Module, and it better be working. BMS is the Battery Management System. I have the ASS turned off in Forscan, my charging voltage does stay above 14 all the while it is running. I have a 2019 XLT and believe there is a switch in the ICP Module that disables the
Dash light.

Semantics aside, I guess I'll leave the auto start/stop enabled until we have a definite answer.

Although I can appreciate accuracy, I will say that the BMS is likely controlled by a BCM so at best BMS is just a more precise descriptor than BCM.

FWIW, I think the module you can buy for $70 is a much more elegant solution to not having to turn the switch off every time you start the truck or making a permanent change with ForScan.

It goes in series with the switch, that is, the module plugs into the switch and the harness plugs into the module. The module remembers the last switch position. So if you turn off auto start/stop the next time you start the vehicle it will be off. If you turn it on it will be on the next time you start the vehicle.

I put one on my wife's 21 Cherokee shortly after getting it and I ordered one for the Ranger as soon as I got home with it. They have been flawless.

ASS is off, no light at all unless I press the button. Did not effect battery management as I still get a variable charge rate depending on SOC.

up'ed the charge to 90%,
Where did you turn off ASS? once you do turn it off, in bottom Right hand corner of forscan is a volt gauge. What does it read with engine running and ASS off?
on mine it dropped down to low 13 volt range with ASS off, and went back up to 14v range with ASS on (indicating to me battery module was also turning off).

Does anyone know if the cargo lamp / puddle light timeout delay can be adjusted? Honestly I'm surprised it can't be changed in the instrument cluster settings like you can with the autolamp feature.

Not that I could ever find. Finally just pulled the bulbs out of the cargo lamps, as I never used them any way. Got sick of them lighting up every time I opened the door.

Thanks, I read your posts about it. Was hoping someone made a discovery somewhere along the way. Although I'm actually trying to do the opposite of you and extend the delay. Having younger kids, it would be nice to have the lighting on for longer as they are nowhere near clear of the truck when the lighting goes out lol. I also tied bedlighting into that circuit which I really like but would rather not resort to leaving a door open or using the cargo lamp switch to keep them on for longer if possible.
