Next Monday I will Have My Friend who is a Ford tech install the front Adjustable struts exactly like yours.....I already have the Rears done...My question: Is there a big difference between the 1.5"inch lift or the 2.25" inch Lift? Do you know the positives of either choice or the negatives? Sounds like you have done this before with all the Ford trucks you have owned....Your input would be Appreciated.

you are adding preload to the spring, that is what gives you the lift, thats really it. the load on the spring is what pushes the truck up, it wont in theory make the ride worse it will just lift the truck
mine wouldnt fit in the garage with more lift so i kept in at 1.5, also it keeps some rake for when there is crap in the bed

Thanks; Unfortunately mine is outside because of the Collector cars eat up the Garage space....Like you I never go off road & I never tow or carry anything to add weight to the rear end....So I could go 2.25" without any Problems...I believe the level would be nice!

I just want to thank everyone on this forum. I haven't posted, but I've learned quite a lot from reading the threads.

We bought a Lariat FX4 last year (over the Taco and Colorado) for the interior and driver safety features. We are not off-roaders, but we do tow a light camper quite a bit, and we are often on gravel and dirt roads to campsites. The ride quality (for us) was horrible from the beginning: it floated like a boat and the back would sometimes bottom out over speed bumps. We want to keep this truck for a long time (and we're very impressed with how well it tows our 4500lb trailer), so my wife convinced me to upgrade the suspension.

After reading a lot of posts here, I bought the Eibach front and rear shocks/struts (directly from Eibach) and had them installed recently by my local shop. We used the factory springs and stock height.

The whole experience was smooth: I had the parts from Eibach in a week, and my mechanic had the job done without an issue.

The ride quality is NIGHT AND DAY improved over stock! No more seasickness. Noticeably less roll pulling out of my driveway. The truck now eats bumps on the road without bouncing us around afterwards. It's a very comfortable highway ride.

Thanks again to folks in this forum for steering me toward the Eibachs, and validating that the ride quality on some FX4's isn't just us. I don't know if there was a manufacturing defect or if we just don't prefer the off-road feel, but the Eibachs certainly made us fall back in love with this truck.

I’ve yet to hear a bad thing about these Eibachs and it’s a economical upgrade when paired with the stock springs. I initially found the ride quite floaty but I think I must be used to it so I’m ok with it. What I can’t get used to is the crazy excessive rocking back and forth when backing out of my driveway. I wouldn’t be surprised if the neighbors think there’s something seriously wrong with my truck. That rocking motion in itself is enough to convince me of changing out the shocks and struts.

I've only changed the rear an that was a huge improvement. I may not level the truck since I'm more in to driving it like a car but may do the front struts anyway at stock height.

You’d think this might make for some strange handling characteristics but I’ve read a few posts with claims that it improved the ride and handling.

There's no sway bar in back so IMO the firmer shocks helps balance things out front to rear.

I’m sure everyone’s experience will differ, but leveling my truck with the Eibach 2.0 Coilover set did wonders to my ride and handling. When I had just the Eibach Pro Truck Shocks installed, my ride quality was improved (no more “waves” throughout the truck after hitting a bump) but the side to side “roll” was still there. After installing the front coilovers and leaving them set at 2.25” (as packaged), my ride quality was increased significantly. Now my truck rides much smoother, and this thing eats bumps and uneven surfaces like it’s nothing. Just my $0.02.

I've found seemingly pointless half inch steel spacers for the front and and have still considered them since I don't ever intend to max out the truck's towing weight abilities.

I've got the Eibach front struts and springs on my truck now and I love them! I've got them set to the 3.75" height because of my heavy bumper and winch combo. The truck is (hopefully) settling to level. The ride is perfect. I love it!

I ordered the Eibachs from Stage 3 --- front (w/o springs) and rear on July 8. I got the rears pretty quickly, but the fronts haven't come in yet. I tried to call Stage 3, but couldn't get through, so I contacted them through their online contact form. About a week later I got an email from Victoria saying that the fronts ship directly from Eibach and are in production for mid-to-late September.

So I'm a little soured on whether I want to mess with Eibach or Stage 3.

Anyone have any suggestions on suitable alternative? I want to raise the front and get the bounce and wobble out of the ride, but I don't want to get stiff, racy, or spendy. Any ideas?

That sounds super frustrating and annoying.

My suggestion is wait it out. It's a huge PITA probably, but I am loving the ride of my truck now, and it came in at an awesome price point.

Wait it Out...It is without a Doubt Exactly what I was Looking For in affordable Alternative to Waving Boat Stock Suspension.....I'am Very Very Particular about Ride Quality & this Fit The Bill Exactly. I Love the Way My Ranger Rides Now....Tight (Not Rough) No More Rocking Etc. This Item has been Real Popular that is Why Production is Delayed....Just Wait & You Will See....Set @2.25 Perfect.
