Eibach Coilover Question

Sorry if its a dumb question or its posted somewhere else but I looked around and couldn't find a definitive answer and I saw somebody else ask this question in another thread so thought ill just make one.

How do you check how high the lift is on the eibach coilovers? I saw somewhere that maybe I measure the threads? On one of eibachs videos (different truck) he measured the threads but wasnt sure if that was the same on our trucks? With that logic am i sitting at only a 1 3/4" ish lift?

Mine had the snap ring to adjust, and the amount of difference in the snap ring spacing is not linear to the actual change in height. Mine was adjustable from 0-3" of lift. I put it in the middle slot and came to almost 1.5" of lift exactly.

I assume an adjustable coil over be the same as a top spacer. Those are about 2:1 in lift, so a 1" spacer gives 2" lift, a 1.5" spacer will yield 3" lift.
But where is the reference? If the ring was screwed all the way down, does that mean no lift? If that's true, 1 3/4" up would yield 3 1/2" lift. Way too much without other suspension mods, UCAs at the least.

This is what I think the correct answer is too. The Eibach can be adjusted on the truck, per Eibach, so... install them, get one where you want, match the other to it.

Right, I agree but thats definitely not the case because at a 3.5" lift id be at the very least leveled with the rear but im not, the rear is .5" higher than the front. I emailed eibach just to clarify but ill just mess with it in the shop when I get off work tomorrow.

And after thinking about it, I read somewhere that Eibach come preset to be near level.
Looks like you have the Stage 2 set. Since they are adjustable, you can get it to exactly where you want it, even after they are installed.

I was told by Eibach Support that they were preset to 3" lift.

This can maybe help.. also in your instructions they give you the maximum amount of hieght for 2wd and 4wd..
They differ slightly due to weight that will cause stress on the components

how hard were those to install??? thinking on doing the rear to help with the ride and was wondering about the fronts as well - dont really need the lift just better ride / drive -- 2020 FX2

Back are really easy. Since you don’t have 4wd, the fronts won’t be bad at all. your ride will be much improved.

do you know of a write up for changing out the 2wd front coilovers??? (like the eibach pro truck) ?? I only find 4WD mines a FX2 and our roads are terrible the wife hates riding in the truck enough to start suggesting I get a bigger truck .. anyway I just ordered eibach pro truck for the rear only Im hoping that will be enough to make it better. likely I just wanted $300 on the rear only but worth a try I guess. What is involved in changing out the front shocks / coilovers? I just got the thing aligned so I'd rather not do that again for a year or so does changing out front require an alignment?

It’s very very similar.. you just don’t have to deal with the cv axle part.
Unbolt spindle from upper control arm..
Loosen coilover nuts on the lower control arm, loosen the three nuts at the top of the coilovers..
Ignore the axle nut and concern for the 4wd axles, and concern for the possibility of the cv axles popping out.

its VERY straight forward to change out the coilovers mostly with the RWD, i did them pretty quick just follow a normal YT video for 4wd or Rwd its pretty much the same we just dont have cv axle. i will warn you... at least my opinion on it was that the rear shocks for the pro kit that i got feel stiff on day to day driving, more planted to the ground less body roll but still stiff. its only when you actually take it off roading medium/high speed is where those rear shocks shine for sure. i considered getting new leaf springs to make it a bit softer in the rear but we'll see...

ill have to check mine out to see if its about 143mm i ended up raising it to about level maybe 1/4" higher in the front but i felt like the ride was quite a bit more stiff than it was so im probably gonna bring it back quite a bit. i was at what my first picture of the post was and i brought it up to about 2 1/4" of threads... i like the look but definitely sacrificed ride comfort.

thanks - alignment after also Im guessing???? hopefully the rear only will make enough of an improvement but if not ill look at the fronts as well.
