Gents, I currently own a 2018 F-150 5.0 that I love but sadly with far less than 20k miles is plagued with transmission, electrical and interior problems. This seems to be a prevailing problem for f-150s across the board. Have you guys and girls had good transmissions and reliability? how about MPG with FX4 package? all info is greatly appreciated.

I’ve had a 2015 F150, 2018 F150 and I never experienced transmission, electrical or interior problems. The only problems I had were the ones created by me. With that said, the Ranger has been great to me as well, almost 15K and no issues. Once out of a blue moon , the collision avoidance screen starts to blink red but I just drive through it, it only lasts 2-3 seconds.

the 10 speed had been very problematic on the f-150, pending class action lawsuit because ford has no fix. my dash is falling apart. My best friend has a 2019 and is on his 4th dashboard. My transmission bangs clanks, jolts and jerks... and my windows go down when ever they please haha. 15,365 miles... im worried.

My 2019 XLT has been problem free. I've had it 18 months and I'm very happy with it.

Since 2015 I have owned 2 S550 Coyote mustangs a Ford Fiesta and the Ranger and non of them gave me any hassle. I’ve traditionally been a Euro guy but I’ve had no issues so I have to concede that they have been better than any BMW or VW product I’ve owned.

Nevertheless I am sorry u have had so many issues, it would dent my faith in a company too but the above has been my experience owning Ford’s.

Just to add Ford dealers sadly have not been a good experience for me personally but I can’t blame the Company for that as mine don’t work for Ford directly.

Hope that helps and that things settle for you.

The Ranger also has the 10 speed. I don't have any complaints with it but I'm only at 1700 miles.

Have had my 2019 almost 17 months almost 25000 miles not one issue. I can get normal driving 22 to 25 mpg less if I drive hard, can squeeze a little more if I drive easy. Not disappointed at all. Still smiling. Towing no issue.

Over 16,000 miles and a 18 months and no issues here. The only minor thing is one hard shift when it is cold - there is now a TSB for that which apparently fixes it. Other than that ONE shift, mine shifts VERY smoothly normally. The powertrain in this truck amazes me.

Almost 11,000 smoooth trouble free miles on mine. Out of all my trucks this tranny and drivetrain is the best I've had. We have one member here Sid (@Msfitoy) who now has over 40,000 miles on his and has had zero issues too. With all those miles we all think he's homeless and lives in his Ranger. ?

I've never owned a vehicle with this many gears and I was scared to death it would hunt for gears, shift too often or be problematic. Instead it's been one of the best shifting vehicles I've been in. Seems more responsive, and the computer goes directly to the needed gear quickly. I've seen it skip over gears that aren't needed and I don't even notice unless I'm paying attention. Overall I'm impressed with the transmission. Coming from a Ford Escape 6 speed that was slow shifting and lethargic.

I'm a person who almost bought a Tacoma because it was the last mid-sized truck available with a manual transmission. With the Ranger and it's 10 speed I don't regret my decision. But when I was driving my Escape I was always thinking damn, I swear to god my next vehicle will be a manual transmission. I remember tromping on the gas then I sit and wait while the computer figures out what to do... There's none of that with the Ranger. Or at least not enough to piss me off. :D
