Cold Air Intakes

I was considering the Roush cold air intake, but am I reading correctly that without reprogramming, it won’t make any difference at all?

I think they're a waste of money unless you get a tune.

That said, I kind of wouldn't mind replacing just the intake tube itself as I think it's a choke point. Any company make just the tube? The oem filter and housing look fine to me.

Snorkel, can still use standard air cleaner, and pickup point is above most dust, road heat, and water.

Funny you say that. i asked CVF if they could make up a replacement intake tube after installing their charge pipes.

Pretty much any intake will make a few hp on a stock truck. When you want more power the Roush is not the best. I have had great success with my Mishimoto intake but I just switched to the Injen intake the other day to try out. I’m running a Revolution Automotive turbo inlet pipe along with the Injen intake and it sounds really good. I’m full bolt on with custom tuning. I make 332/367 on 93.

I developed a turbo inlet pipe for our trucks. It improves power and throttle response along with a lot of other benefits for modified trucks. The photo shows the stock one compared to my pipe

Ok this is just bugging me;

Our trucks don't have cold air intakes available on the market, or rather not in the classical sense. The only exception being a snorkel, which is more of a cold air intake than anything else.

One member on here if I recall made one, custom making an intake from a fender vent that routed into the engine.

I have personally decided on an Injen intake, but I'll wait till they have a blow out sale or something cause $400+ for their product is retarded. Its just a hot air intake, but they want to charge more than most fully boxed intakes.
